Question poll: united as 1 or a RS/WRX split?

What do you guys think, keep this board a 1st gen 2.2L/2.5RS/OBS forum only & have a separate one dedicated to the 2nd gen TS/WRX, or should we keep everybody here?

I'm just curious because on the Acura CL board, people seem to have forgotten about the 1st generation car since the debut of the 2nd.

Keep everyone here. We shouldn't make them go find somewhere else to talk about cars because Subaru made a mistake...

It's Subaru's fault the damn thing looks like it rolled off a Waly Disney set. Why leave Imprezer to clean their mess up?

I think we should definately all stay together, I'm just hoping tuners/vendors don't abandon RS owners once the nexgen impreza gets here.

It looks like Cobb Tuning is going to support the 2.5l motor still, so we should be ok...

Well there will likely be arguements like the VW owners over which is better the VR6 or the 1.8T or something like that.

It will get hot and furious, with competetion from "kill stories" piling up.

I hate intraspecies kill stories.

With respect to the "kill stories", I think this board could handle a little competition between members. The board is already supportive when it comes to Autocrossing, etc, and the people here are definitely a caliber above those who would ruin the good karma of Impreza ownership by bickering about who is faster.

Well look at the UK boards. Are they mainly WR owners? Are they any N/A owners there too? That would be the trend in the end. In the beginning it will prolly be the same. But soon, some person will start up a North American WRX board (W-club?) and some of the ppl who has the WRX will join both...this one and that one. However as months goes by...the W-club will suit their need more and they will slowly migrate there. It's ok.... we don't need them anyways!

We should all stay together. After all a scooby is still a scooby, no matter how big or powerful its engine is. Anyways, Subaru doesn't sell enough cars for us to start on interspeices kill stories. And beyond that, how many Subaru owners are enthusiats, as they are the only ones worth takeing a shot at? Besides, it will still be more fun to kill Mustangs and Corvettes. That will never change.

Its true.
Its true.

I mean we have Impreza Ls, RSs, Legacys, SVXs even. Where are the Justys by the way?

But I think that a subaru is still a subaru and maybe someone will start a Generation-Rex (hey i should look into that one) and take many people away, there will always be a solid knowledge base here.

I think the RS/old WRX will always be popular, they have been raced for years, and are truly cult cars. the new WRX I think will catch on, but it doesn't have the lineage.

I'm just asking this question because of all the speculation about the WRX that was done here. It seems that we've broken into two distinct groups: one side that likes the new car for its rigid platform and factory turbo engine, and another side that likes the current car for its looks.

I can just see flame wars going "yeah, well I can smoke your riceboy lookin slow POS" and "at least my car doesn't look like a Neon!"
