Well BOB
The only thing that I can say that I don't like about my STi, is.....hold on.......ummm....nothing. It comes with its own little quirks: odd rattles, finicky tranny (though not bad in any way), vibrating wing and scoop, but you get used to it very quickly and will find yourself missing the sube's little quirks when you ride/drive another vehicle, at least I do. You will also find yourself singing/talking to yourself a lot more until you get a system put it. -Geo ![]() |

I'm also looking at STi. Acutally went to local dealer today and found 2 STis (blue/gold, black/gold). The black/gold really stands out. Anyways, both were in the show room and got chance to sit in it. Wonder when they would let people test drive it? I had a bad experience of purchasing new car without testdriving (350Z). I'm also looking at Evo, and mitsu dealer handed me the key to keep it over night which was very impressive. I really like STi but can't afford it at this point. Evo on the other hand I can afford at this point. Maybe I should wait few months and see if the price goes down a bit.

I've had mine since July (and also own a heavily modified WRX). I absolutely love this car. The only issue I've had has been pinging. I took mine in for the re-flash and it's running perfectly since. Just to second what has already been said, it does come with the assortment of rattle and clicks, but a lot of that is easily heard only because of the lack of sound deadening built into the car - and the lack of a system.
It doesn't have the luxury of the G35 or BMW, but PLEASE before you buy, assess what you want out of the car. (Since you posted this thread, I'm assuming you're doing that, though). I've heard people complaining about a lot of things on the car - no radio, poor gas mileage, even it's lack of a cargo net!!! But, if you want an outstanding performance car, that is built and suited for a true driving enthusiast, I would recommend it. It's a blast to drive and be prepared to get looks! Feel free to PM any more questions you may have.... -Andrea |

I just got my STI 3 days ago and I absolutely love it. I test drove an evo, and a 350z as well. I got to spend a good 20 minutes in my room mates STI and I was sold. I had my highly modified integra sold by the end of the week and I traded in my s2000.
Its a great driving experience... It doesnt get great gas mileage, but then again what 300hp turbo monster does? If you're looking for a cushy european ride and trim level then look else where. Its a civilized rally car and it should be analyzed as such. As previously stated, just analyze what you want from the car before purchasing because its definitely not for everyone. Good Luck! |

, all the car needs is a nice stereo system.. The car is alot of fun, you get the thrill of a ralli inspired 300 Hp monster and best of all AWD. But then again you have the little quirks like STigeorge had mentioned.. The only way your going to find out if the STi is for you is to jack one , just kidding go test drive one..What are you waiting for!! ![]() |

I love my STi so far... it's only been 120 miles...
Here's the odd things I noticed so far... if you're steering hard in a turn and you hit a bump or pot hole, you can feel the shock through the steering column. I kept hearing a clicking noise like my alarm fob was knocking against the steering column, but then I realized it was the wipers! you can hear the click when the motor turns on and off. Those aren't bad things, just things I noticed. The things I really like are all the sounds of the mechanics... the whir of the differentials (I think) as you accelerate and the rush of the turbo... and if you're on a smooth road and you push the gas a little hard then let up, you can hear the "sshhhhhh" of the bypass valve. might have to take my snorkel out soon just to hear it... |
