Post Anyone in AZ going to Firebird Friday (6-30-2000)?

I'm planning on going to Firebird raceway Friday night (gotta' see if the K&N improves my quarter mile times). Any one else in AZ care to go? We'll decend on the place with Scoobys.

Question

I haven't ever been out there. What time is it from and to? When are you going? how much is it to watch? How much to run?

I might try to come by.

Aaron

Red-Impreza,

Are you the guy who was out there last Friday? I was the one driving the white 2000 RS. I'll be down there later in the night unless monsoons roll in.

AaronB,
Gates open at seven and close about eleven. Cost it $10 to race or watch. Hope to see you there

A good time was had by all! Including a pinch driver who did a faster time then I could in my own car. :P

Here's my results:

Reaction ET Speed (W)in/(L)oose
.615 16.654 82.19 L-2.301, vs Vette
.633 16.658 81.34 W-2.783, vs Civic
.578 16.971 80.26 W-2.911, vs Civic
.628 16.852 80.23 L-0.041, vs 2.5 RS
.579 16.729 79.59 W-0.118, vs 2.5 RS

And the kicker
.642 16.432 81.12 W-0.038, vs 2.5 RS

That last time was after a buddy of mine drove my car and pulled a 16.3-something (I don't have the slip and I don't remember the exact time). He told me he just lauched it a little closer to redline then I had been.

Hey Imprezme,

I finally figured out the stupid time slips (OK, maybe it wasn't the time slip that was being stupid ). Even though your times were usually faster we split the pair of runs and I beat my buddy on a hole-shot. It says at the bottom of the slip, either Right or Left first and the time difference.

This is a lot of fun. This was only the second time (last weekend being the first) I've ever raced at a drag strip. I can't wait to try Autocross.
