Default Dimensions of the factory underseat subwoofer sub

Like the title says. Anyone know what the dimensions of this thing are? And roughly how much clearance it has to the seat.

Thanks

Don't know the exact dimensions, but it's about 8" by 10" by 2". Very small.

There's about 1.5-2" of vertical clearance.

I can measure mine tomorrow if you want more exact info.

If you could, that would be awesome.. The guys over at the rx8club are trying to see if that would be an option. (We don't have much of a trunk to work with..)

You can probably remove the stock sub if you're already getting another one.. You probably do the reverse of the install instructions over at subaruparts.com..

nt5k,
is the Kenwood Woox too big for the RX-7?I've got one under the passenger seat of my 04 Impreza. I can send you some pics if you're interested. It sounds quite good and was wicked simple to install. I'd think that would be a better/easier option than going with a stock sub from a different manufacturer's car.

OK, sorry it took so long, very busy today!

It's 8.5 x 10 x 2 (inches).

The sub taps into the speaker-level rear L and R +/- leads on the Subaru harness, and also takes +12V and ground. It has adjustments for crossover frequency and loudness level. Driver is about 5-1/4" or so. I think this ought to work with any car. It's decent for the size, but not like a real large sub. It will add some thump and round out the low end, but not really shake the car or rattle windows.

I thin for the price, the Infiniti Basslink is probably a better deal (assuming it fits your application).

Here's a link to the Panasonic spec sheet for the "Ultra Slim Subwoofer Box".
