To my knowledge all the WRX engine will carry the active valve timing, which I believe is Subaru's version of VTEC or VTT-i.

The track of this car is actuall more of the 22b track than the old WRX. I would say that this is looking more to be a detuned and revised 22b rather than a new WRX.

Also, if anyone knows how to make the table not have that huge space at the top please let me know. For some reason I can't figure it out for UBB table posting. Sorry for the size.

I am not 100% sure but I don't believe the MY 02 WRX has the variable timing. Probably the STi version or the next year.

What's
AVCS
(Active Valve Control System) Turbo
then?

It sounds like a Variable Valve system to me.

Ok, so can someone run some numbers to see what the max mph for each gear is? What should we assume the fuel cut is at? I pray to god that at least the lower gears are a bit longer than the RS.

Wishing for 6 spd.

Will we get the 6-speed in the '03 model? All of the literature I've read says it'll be coming over a year after the North American release.

Hmm... the turbo has an extra 10 Liters of fuel capacity. Did they do that to keep the range the same, since the fuel economy for the turbo is lower?

10 liters = ??? gallons
