Default Remote Starter Ulta Start

There are a number of remote starters mentioned on this web site, but the most frequently mentioned ones , like Clifford etc, have been impossible for me to find.. This unit cost $130 and was found through an online web site (had to call them to get the model I wanted). I cannot yet comment yet how it will work over time (just installed) so this review is limited to a install review and other comments. Below are some pictures of the unit, a link to a very good “how to” thread (some things missing) and a link to the main web site and a link to where it was purchased.

Installation took me about 18 hours over three days but that included me doing some troubleshooting and correcting some of my own mistakes. i.e. no continuity on some wires I ran. The bottom line here is that it worked immediately.! It even tach learned immediately with my tach wire being run from behind the gauge panel. For those not familiar with remote starters this is a big deal. Many require a tach wire from an fuel injector or from a coil wire. The unit is put into starting mode (reservation mode) by pulling up the ebrake ,place in neutral and pushing on the brake pedal twice. The car key is removed and the car keeps running. Then you get out and close the door and the car shuts off.
This model 3200 series has cold weather start ( can start up independently at set intervals) has a turbo timer (will run for two minute after getting out of the car) and of course keyless entry. The sending unit will tell you the vehicle has started and the amount of time it has to go before shutting off. In addition as to whether the car is locked or unlocked. My main criticism is navigating and setting various settings. I haven’t quite figured it out yet. For example shutting off the horn so it will work only in car finder mode. This will take some getting use to. If anyone has any questions feel free to pm me.

Wow, I was just looking around for a nice remote starter that works with a manual transmission. Hows is the security on the system? I know some of them have hood sensors (this isn't there in the subaru security), and is there a mention if the transmitter changes it's code everytime to ensure no one can capture the code?

Basically, does it work as expected, and do you feel secure?

It is just a remote starter. No security with it. Try autotoys.com to find both for manual transmission. I do have a security/remote for manual transmission but won't install it until in spring. Right now I am just testing the one above.
