Question 5Zigen exhaust

Iím in the market for a new cat-back exhaust system. Has anyone tried the 5zigen exhaust system? If so, any comments?

Well I don't own a 2.5RS (hopefully next spring!) but I have the 5zigen Fireball exhaust on my 2000 Celica and I really like it a lot. It has an angled cut so it looks kinda like a motorcycle exhaust. Some ppl would say it appears ricey, but it definitely doesn't sound ricey. It has a low deep rumble at low RPMs and doesn't have that accompanying buzz that other manufacturers such as Greddy, HKS, and RSR. As far as performance goes, it differs depending on the design of the car; I'm not familiar with how the exhaust is laid out in the 2.5RS. On my car, I got it installed with an intake at the same time; I'd be hard-pressed to say anything more than 3-4 HP at the wheels in my Celica though.

Hope that helps!

(eagerly awaiting WRX!!)

I have it and it's a heck of a system. Inner tubing is 2.4", tip is 3.5", and it mounts at an angle-both upwards and slanting to the left.

Estimated HP gain is the typical estimate...6-8 hp with the catback.

Sound is deep, rumbly, and has a "vroom" at the top. A perfect blend for me.

OT, how much did it cost you to get the whole go-zigen system? Did it came with a cat?

Gorio-

I can tell you who to contact. Email the guys at Auto Imaging- [email protected] -as I think their computer system is back up after a move. Alternately try calling them at 1-952-842-9131 and ask for Shawn.

Auto Imaging will be able to hook you up with any and all of their parts for 10% off. I got mine for $475 shipped. You could get yours for a similar price. Or if you're on a budget you could get the universal canister and have a muffler shop weld you a midpipe and flanges. Whatever you want to do.

On the system...

It goes from the cat on back, and it's a great setup. Highly reccomended by other guys on the board too (Sunrise City Rider in particular). Build quality and welds are top notch, all done in Japan.

I really like it. When it first goes on, the look is a little weird...but you get used to it. The angle-mounting is done for performance's sake, like many Japanese high performance mufflers. That last bend is eliminated resulting in more flow.

I could go on, but I hope I've said enough. Feel free to ask me anymore questions you may have!
