Post Super Detail Kit for 1/24 Impreza WRC

I know this is a longshot, but does anyone have anymore information on this particular kit?
http://www.romu-romu.com/cgi-bin/977...UPER/super.cgi

Scroll down to the middle or so. I managed to translate it and it says it's basically used with the Tamiya 98 Impreza WRC kit. It also says you have to make most of the parts yourself (engine). Does anyone have any more information on this detail-kit? how many parts does it come with? What does it cost? Does anyone else sell this thing? I'd really like to get my mitts on it but I don't know enough information.

I've never seen that particular detail kit, but there are a couple of manufacturers of super-detail kits for various Tamiya products. I checked the one I could remember (Scale Motorsports)and they don't have a Subaru kit, but I can't remember any others off-hand and I don't have a copy of Scale Auto Enthusiast with me here at work. Have you seen any of these other multi-media detail kits?

Wow, I'm not sure what company that is. I've seen kits for the Focus, but not for the Impreza. All I've done to my kits, is get the Studio 27, or Modeler's photoetch upgrade kits, nothing that extravigant. Although I see all kinds of awesome cars and aircraft at all the model competitions I've been to. One guy I saw one time, didn't even paint the body on his WRC, he just clearcoated the blue plastic! Looked rather nice, although it didn't quite match the Mica Blue. And guys, don't be so quick to bash your own work. If you didn't set out to superdetail it, just build it out of the box, and you did, then you've succeeded. But yeah sometimes, I can be my own worst critic, it's hard to resist sometimes. I think "Well I could've added another color coat", or" I could've adde some photoetched hood pins" etc.... etc.... When I do that, I just build another one! :-p

I'm with 172 on this one. The kits made by Studio 27 are a best bet as far as I'm concerned. They have detail packages for almost all of Tamiya's rally cars. Just looking at the Impreza WRC '99 and there's a bunch of photo etch parts like grills and slotted brake rotors. Lots of other little bits too, not sure what they're for yet!
There's some extra decals and even two little metal rally helmets to add to the interior.

I've also got a separate set of templated carbon fibre decals to detail the seats and other interior items.

Best part is these kits are pretty cheap and most good hobby shops will either have them or be able to get them. Even way the hell up here !!

Have to hurry up and finish this one now so I can post pictures !!

I'm with you Shawn...I'm building a 99 WRC car and I did it up like a fictional privateer team and this thing puts mine to shame...damn this guy has way too much time and too steady of a hand...I don't even see any thumb prints on it...

Question

Where can you find Studio 27 stuff here in the States???

I've only seen it on eBay from some guy in Australia or New Zealand. I'm not gonna eBay something all the way from over there...

I'm gonna post some pics of my WRC model when it's done. I've also got a Focus WRC in the "rally workshop"...the shell is being seam welded right now :P

myykrrr, got to www.HLJ.com, that's Hobbylink Japan, you'll find everything Studio 27 there. You can order online and everything. But since they're in Japan, be prepared to wait a couple weeks. I order decals and photoetch sets all the time, and I've never had to wait longer than a month, but that was because it was backordered. Otherwise 2-2 1/2 weeks is normal. Gotta fly!

I emailed the company about the high deatail 1/24th Impreza on there page.

They responded and said it was based on a Tamiya 1/24th Impreza WRC and the rest was hand built. They don't have anything for sale for detailing the Impreza.

Grand Prix models in the UK has some trans kits for the Impreza WRC. They are a great company.

I have a high detail Subaru Impreza wrc 555 by a company Provence Moulage. The kit is 1/43rd scale and has as much detail as the 1/24th one from this company in Japan.

Provence Moulage only made 1000 of these high detail kits. It took me about 6 months to find somebody that had one (unbuilt) for sale. I got it from a guy in the UK.

If you would like you can see some pics of it on my web page.

Let me know what you think.

yeah, I think you've posted that page before RallyX, and it's an excellent kit, with great detail. But I stick to 1/24, 1/20 and 1/12 in car kits, 1/43 is just too small for me, although I appreciate the amount of detail you can put into that small a scale, and you can get away with more. My '99 WRC is on the bench as we speak, the body has already been color coated and awaiting decal application. I'm 90% done with a 1/12 Tamiya YZF-R1, which will be done as soon as it stops raining here!!
