Have a Nice Day?

Geez, I don't have the courage to face all you guys. Believe me, I'm as anxious to drive it as you are to hear about it. It is now done and waiting for me to pick it up--if I can just get out of the office for 30 min...

FWIW, I have been in Trey's car with the cams, so I am interested in seeing what Jon's impression of them are. Trey's car was RWD at the time though....

mprezme

not sure if ur serious or not about not knowing about cams but ill give u my crapy defifntion just in case....

ANYONE PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ADD UR 2 CENTS ABOUT MY EXPLAINATION HERE OR FEEL FREE TO CORRECT ME IF U FEEL IM WRONG IN ANYWAY, FOR I AM HARDLY A GENIOUS IN THIS FEILD.
cams are long shaft like structures that are in ur engine that run parallel withe the alignment of the cylinders. in inline engines an SOHC (Single Over Head Camshaft) engine their is one cam, in a DOHC engine (Double Over Head Camshaft) there are two cams. but that is in an inline engine. since we have a boxer engines there will always be atleast two camshafts, one for each row of cylinders. so in a SOHC boxer engine there are two cams and in a DOHC boxer engine there are 4 cams. the cams control when the valves open and close in the cylinders to let in the air/fuel mixture into the cylinder. all hondas have a ***** load of aftermarket cams to help out the breathing of the engine and a some of them claim up to 30hp increase (B.S. alert!!!).
impreza's ive heard have really crappy stock cams, and cobb tunning is the first to finally make some aftermarket cams for the RS. Rallispec is also currently working on developeing their own as well.
Cobb's cams have supposedly been dyno tested and supposedly have peak hp increase at of 14hp and an incrase of 19hp at redline and no low end power lose (which seems like a realistic gain to for aftermarket cams)
and jon here is the first guy any of us know of to buy the new cams and successfully get them installed........see why everyone's so excited to hear what he has to say about them, also since cams hepl ur engines breathing out they will supposedly increase the power gains u will get from other mods as well like cat-back exhaust and air intake.

phew, done

Only one minor oversight on the cams definition.. hahah and is a small one I am sure..

but cams dont run parallel the cylinders.. they run perpendicular! Which is what I am sure you meant to say... other than that.. you seem to have it covered.

Motor on and go DRIVE THAT DARN CAR..
