Question Andre, is Grass Roots Motorsports talking about you?

I think Trey mentioned this in another thread, "GRM's Head Game Atricle - Anyone considering a valve job".

They have an article on the $1500 Challenge. A guy up near Dallas built up a beater Mustang. At the end of the article they talk about how he was beat his first time out. Lost by 0.4 seconds to a '99 RS with turbo & intercooler. I like how they mention "and the driver is experienced." Are you experienced?! (I apologize to all the Jimi Hendrix fans out there. I couldn't resist!)

But, they also say the second time out he beat the same Subaru by over a second. Say it aint so!! I'm sure you'll give him hell with the new parts.

It sounds like you, but I was just curious. Later!

Well that does it......

I'm gonna have to write them a LITTLE reply
He didn't beat me till he sunk some MAJOR $$$ in the wheel, tire & suspension department.... (3rd or 4th event), and I was running on two and 1/2 cyl.... Tray has the motor that came out the car. I only ran that event to score some points. The next event he beat me at, was the day AFTER the install of the 2.2 motor. VERY low boost and fuel leak problems. Again, I only entered that race to keep my points lead in the class. Last Sunday, was the first event back to normal hp.... I beat him by 0.02 sec, after I COASTED part of the course thinking I had destroyed my transmission.... I HOPE he shows up at the divies weekend after next..... And I hope I can pull my head out my a$$ far enough to see a LITTLE daylight...
If I can do that I will smoke his cheater rustang. My car SURE is capable... It's that loose nut behind the wheel that keeps backing off to early

Besides..... I drive my car DAILY as well as to and from the races. That car broke down going home from the last race where it TRIED to do that....

Makes me the car wasn't even LEGAL for the $1500 challenge. Neither is it LEGAL in SM. But I'll kick it's a$$ anyway, and at the moment, that rustang is on the top of my list of names of "A$$'s Most Frequently Kicked" AND IT WILL REMAIN THERE

Andre

PS.... Sorry I'm so steamed i forgot to answer the question... Yes they are talking about me.... I think .... because they don't have all the facts straight. They may be talking about some one else. my car sure is not as HIGHLY modified as that Rustang is. Hell, I went with a SMALLER motor (2.2 vs 2.5) His is 5.8... so he claims

Angry

And another thing

He lost by 1.4 seconds (I think) the first time we met this year!! (I was on street tires & he was on Khumo's!!) We started to auto cross about the same time..... So I don't know where they get the "experienced" from My car is also a '98 model and not a '99. So there to GRM BAD reporting if I have EVER seen it.

OOOOOO I'm steamed.... I'm gonna go get that mag from a friend just so I don't waste my $ on it, and read the article. Believe me I WILL correct them

better than that Andre, you can go to www.grassrootsmotorsports.com and tell your side of the story in their messageboard.

but what are you pissed about? making it to print is cool. it's not like they said "A lame dork in a stupid suburu[sic] of some sort somehow beat us once or twice. then we whipped him." GRM is pretty actively promoting SM for national competition-- I say more power to 'em.

btw, what's illegal about the mustang? most of us haven't seen it. no interior? not registered? not registerable?

Well,
The car does not qualify for the $1500 challenge because it has far more than $1500 spent on it in parts alone
