Unhappy Thank god I don't have a turbo..

or else I would have been caught doing 200km/h+ instead of 160 in a 90 zone.
Damn damn damn damn! $533 is an expensive lesson. grrrr And to top it off, it was an unmarked cop car. Supposedly I flew by him on the road and it took him at least a kilometer to catch up to me. He didn't get me on radar though, but he estimated my speed. I think I'll contest it considering he never pulled up beside me and when he finally did catch me, I wasn't speeding.
1st speeding ticket too. I felt so sick that I didn't come up with any excuses.

Hello,

A friend of mine got 135 in a 65 in his modded eclipse... Needless to say, the cops were not happy campers (and would have been even less happy had they seen that he was slowing down from 160 . Forced him out of the car at gunpoint and both officers had him under the gun until he was quartered on the ground.

Hee hee... miracle happened though, and instead of straight to jail, he just got a ticket and it was only like $300ish. He was so happy, he paid it right away And yes, there was radar and two CHP officers. He wasn't going to win fighting it.

My friend had an Eclipse too and it was California. Isn't that funny. He spent a night in jail if I remember correctly though.

heheh funny that you mention at gun point. The chief was standing relatively far away with his hand on his gun. Kind of freaked me out so I kept my hands on the steering wheel. He wasn't friendly about it either. "What where you trying to prove?! You trying to kill yourself? It took me a damn long time to catch up to you" I thought about saying "well with the POS you're driving, no wonder it took you that long to catch me" Course, I was wise enough to shut up. I need to learn some good lines to soften the blow... or simply learn how to drive slower.

I flew by a cop yesterday going at least 120 mph. I was late for our Wednesday morning meeting, and this guy in a Civic Si was attempting to race me (I wasn't driving any different than usual though, my usual morning time trial). Anyway... we both flew by this motorcycle cop who already had this 80s Corolla pulled over. He just looked at us like, "Sheeeiiit!"

At the stop light I looked over to the Si driver and he looked over to me like, "Sheeeiiit!" I think that we both felt really lucky.

Sorry to hear about your ticket, it happens though. You know it's usually best not to make excuses or lie about your speed. If you're just up front and polite to the cop (and you have you license/registration/insurance ready) sometimes they'll give you a break. I'm only 23 (so I wouldn't expect much sympathy), but I've been pulled over five times when the cop has either just written me up for a warning, or a fix-it (like incorrect address on license) and sent me on my way when I probably deserved a ticket.

Hey Rick, I am really sorry for you man..
3 years ago, I get cut at 170 in a 50 zone (ok , before you tell me I am crazy, it was straigh, and no house.. it was a field.)
The cops was really piss up, because he was in the back of me when I press on the gaz. haha. Ya right. haha for me.. but, he press on the radar when I was 120, and he gave me a ticket for 120.. lucky me.. only 450$ (compare to the other one) and 7 points..

Where did you get it ? 90.. Was is in kanawake where I told you last time ??

Yesterday, when I came back from Lachute, they was sitting in the curve..

Take care man..

Hmmmmmm... just got an out-of-state ticket in Wisconsin for 85 in a 65... almost $225 and "6 points", whatever that means. We don't do points here in Illinois so no clue what thats about. Maybe after I run out of points up there, I can't drive through their state or something?

Lame cheeseheads. Who does 65 in a 65 zone? In Illinois we fly by the cops, 80 in a 55 and as long as there is a big pack of people going along (which there ALWAYS is), noone gets stopped.

Hi Mike! waaazzzuuup?

Yep, it was in the exact same place where you told me not to speed (coming off the Mercier bridge). Luckily, no points were deducted. I think I'll move to Germany soon cause there, I'll be able to speed to my heart's content.

How's your turbo coming along? Ya coming to the Solo 2 this weekend?

WAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPPPPPP.. hehe.

Ya, you really need to be carefull there, they are often there.. After that, its the curve..

For my turbo. Ya, almost finish.. I went to test drove it yesterday again.. but this time, I did not gave him a chance.. hehe. 1-2-3-4.. Damm, that was nice and fast on backroads of lachute.. hehe...
But still have to install my temporaly boost valve, I dont have my ITC or S-AFC for the moment.. But the car run great.. Its running rich without anytrouble without the computer.. I think that its because we put the MAF after the turbo, just in front of the trottle body, so he is able to calculated everything perfectly.

For this weekend, if I got my car, I will come say hi with my g/f at arround noon..
You should check the club message board, and leave something there..

Ok man, I am out. I am waiting for Jan to pick me up, and we are out to Lachute and shopping for more camping stuff for next week Baie des Chaleurs Rally..

Take care Ingo
Ciao

Have a Nice Day?

Damn, I feel lucky for living in a state with an assbackwards government.....

An 89 in a 70 only cost me 92.50!!!!!
Most tickets are like that in Alabama, and they wonder why they don't have enough money to keep state Troopers on the Road ...
DumbA$$es......
(We have less State Troopers per mile of highway than any other state

Are we talking speeding tickets???? 155 in a 50 zone. In Canada, going 3 times the limit gets you a date with the judge and a 6 month suspension. Man, I drove retarded when I was 18....

Jesus Mike, your even worse than me

Thumbs up

Damn, u guys sure go like the wind! I hit 90 once and I thought I was flying. Of course that was on I-95 which is only 20 over the limit.

Maybe it was that time I spun out, did several 360s on a dry strip of highway and ened up backwards for over 10s doin over 100mph that really deters me from doing such speeds.

But that is a whole other kettle of fish.

From what I hear, going 20mph over the speed limit is considered a felony. I'd rather get a ticket than get arrested.

Hmmm... speeding tickets... worst one I got was 98 mph in a 45 mph zone. It was the only number the cop saw clearly on his radar as I was hard on the binders slowing down from 135+ mph. Another one I was tagged at 88 mph in a 55 mph zone. The cop looks at my bike, walks to the rear and says, "Is that a racing slick son?" I hadn't swapped out tires from my last race yet... The kind officer wrote me up for 64 mph in a 55 mph zone and then called my girlfriend to let her know I would be late picking her up.

Oh, but the best one yet is when I passed a cop at around 115 mph. I was cruising home next to a friend on his GSXR 750 and up ahead a cop was pulling over a pick up truck. I pulled a brain fart and kept going - zoomed past him without slowing down. My bud slowed down to a respectable 55 mph. They didn't get me, but they pulled my buddy over. When questioned he said, "He just turned down St. Paul Church Road, but you'll never catch him. He's probably already at home by now."

But, since I've gotten away from motorcycles I've done much better. A few times I avoided the ticket by simply refusing to look in my tiny rearview mirrors and never, ever letting off the gas. Thinking back on my youth, I sometimes wonder how the hell I ever made it past 30.

Remember, don't drive like me!
