Default Good price for RS engine?

I speed USA will sell me a 99 RS engine shortblock with 35k miles on it for $400 unshipped. Is this a good price? What does he mean by shortblock? Is it the entire engine? Thanx

Short block means its missing like waterpump,timing set and thats a great price but you need to get the parts that are missing and the gaskets and sealent so look for complete to be around 750 ish... hope this helps....

A short block is just the block, no heads, no accessories, etc.

The heads will run you another $700 or so if you buy them new from a dealership. Should be able to find them cheaper than that used. Try the private sale classifieds to price shop for the whole engine...
