Wink Header Gasket, Go Boom.

Ok a friend of mine got new headers for his accura but didn't replace the old gaskets and one day he heard a pop and blam his exhaust header gasket was shot. So I think when my Boral Headers come, I'm replacing the gaskets. I already have the cat and exhaust I'll need gaskets for them too. But what kind should I get. Just stock/OEM or do I need something different for the larger headers and exhaust?
who should I get them from?
Thanks for any help you can give.
Ryan D.

The mounting flange should be the same. If you don't have too many miles on your car, you can probably reuse the ones you have - the stock ones are aluminum. If you have a bunch of miles, say 30k+, get some new stock ones. I think htey are about $10 each.

My ride is only a baby, about 6k on it and only 6 months old. Can anyone say thay have re-used the stock gaskets for a full Borla setup after 6k?

Did your friend blow his head gasket or his exhaust header gasket? There's a big difference ($$$).

Not intended as a flame if it's a typo.

Sorry Sorry Sorry exhaust header gasket.

I don't think a accura has the same as ours though. I think we have the crush type, one use only.
I'm just looking for some confirmation on this. If they are the crush type I'm thinking I may replace them just to be on the safe side. Anyone know for sure?

The exhaust header gaskets arent aluminium.. they are MLS...

They have a crush ring on the inside of the gasket for each exhaust port.

Hence they shouldnt really be used again... I would suggets getting new ones...

They arent expensive
