you would have to transfer everything including the ballast...the housing will bolt up.....directly..

Yeah will bolt right up woudn't it be much cheaper to just clear ur factory lights out or have it done and install HID in the stockers would be a much cheaper approach and look the same. I know i have been clearing and clearing/painting those lights for www.azpinstalls.com for a while and they look identical to JDM lights but cost a fraction of the 600+ cost. PM me if you want more details.

im not worried about the cost of the Headlights, im getting them off of a JDM sti clip at very low cost. I am concerned about the intensity of the HID's though. If they are close to 5000K then it doesnt seem worth doing in my mind. Is it possible to upgrade the intensity if it is that low....without buying a new hid kid that is...?

Even at 5000k, that's actually some pretty good usable light. By upgrade, do you mean lower, say, 4300k?

Why do you think things under 5K aren't worth it?

if im going to spend the money on an HID kit, then hopefully it will be brighter than the $30 MTEC bulbs I have right now.
thats why I worried about the K range of the JDM STI Hid's

It depends what you mean by brighter...

If you mean useable light, 4100K is brighter

If you mean bling-bling-look-at-me-I-have-HID's, yes, 7000K is brighter

The K (Kelvin) range you speak of isn't the brightness of the lights, it is the color temperature. 7000K is not brighter than 5000K, it is just farther toward the blue/purple range of the light spectrum. The 4300K range is what you will see the best with, because that's the color temperature of natural sunlight, which is what your eyes are accustomed to receiving. 7000K will also hurt your night vision in foggy or rainy conditions, compared to 4300K. You are also a lot less likely to have problems with your law enforcement by staying under 5000K, becuase your lights won't look so blue. And any HID setup will outperform your MTEC or PIAA or any standard filament light source, so don't worry about them being brighter. They will be, even at 4300K.
