Hi, I have a 2003 impreza ts and like anybody I'm looking for horsepower. I'd like to know if I would increase my hp with some better fuel injectors and pump and what kind should I buy?
Thanks

You won't get any gains with those without some sort of Engine management.

Ok but what kind of engine management should I get? Should I change my ecu or should I get a device like an apexi S-AFC piggy back fuel computer?

You will not increase your horsepower with some better fuel injectors and pump unless you have done a mod to increase the amount of airflow to your engine. Then even though you have increased the amount of airflow to your engine, you have to know whether the increase of airflow is so much that the car runs lean despite the stock ECU's map at wide open throttle (WOT).

In this case a better pump and fuel injectors will benefit.

Short answer: No, you won't get any gains.

Intake and exhaust should be your 1st concerns. Let it breath at higher RPM. My TS picked up a full second on the strip with intake and exhaust.

The thing is that I'm looking for the next step after the exhaust and the intake. I tought a better fuel injection would do the job. What should I look for then?

For one, you could get lighter components for the car or lighter rotating mass (Ex: lightened flywheel, lighter rims, pulley, etc). Or you can get a fuel controller (Apexi SAFC, Hyper Field SAFC, etc) and get to a dyno to try to modify your fuel settings for power instead of the stock 'economy' mode. When I say modify your fuel settings for power, I'm saying adjust your fuel settings on a dyno to 12.5 air/fuel ratio for peak power (or whatever other tuning technique the dyno operator/friend suggests). Just a thought.
