Question Anyone have problems with Abs in the rain?

Jesus.. I just slamed on the brakes to get a feel for the Abs in the wet... And for the next 12 Stop signs Hardly pressing the brakes the Abs kicked in like I was on Ice or something..

Has that happend to anyone here..

also what's with the car's petal feeling soft? I have to Press it about halfway for the Brakes to engage.

The pedal feel can be fixed with new pads and stainless lines.

There's a thread somewhere about NHSTA investigating problems with WRX ABS brakes. A lot of people have had serious problems.

Seems like tire thread has alot to do with it also... My car fishtailed 90 degrees yesterday under hardly any power I think it's time to change the shoes.

The only problem I have with the ABS is when they engage they won't shut off untill you either take your foot off the pedal or come to a stop.

Change your tires to a set of good all seasons and a lot of your ABS problems will go away.

Thats my problem too. If I am breaking hard and go over a bump, the ABS kicks in and I have to pump the brake so the ABS shuts off. I am considering an ABS disable switch.

No, the only time that I am unhappy with abs is on dry roads that have a sharp bump.

Take out the fuse for ABS solenoid. I forget which one it is but check your owner's manual. I have had my fuse out since I got the car. I rarely lock the brakes, even under hard braking. Car feels like it stops better to me now.

I installed a cutout switch in the dashboard for mine. When the ABS is off, I can lock the brakes up no problem. The only time I find having ABS off is in gravel, snow, or choppy roads.
