Default Question about GD car chassis codes (GDA vs GDB)

Which cars are assigned the GDA and which the GDB chassis codes? Also what are the differences between these chassis?

GDA = Sedan
GDB = Wagon

Actually, its more like this:

GDA-WRX Sedan
GDB-JDM STi Sedan
GGA-WRX Wagon
GGB-JDM STi Wagon

I don't know what the chassis code is for the USDM STi. On the JDM STi, you might see something listed as GDB-A, GDB-B, and GDB-C. The first two are "version 7"'s (round headlights) and the last is the "version 8" (teardrop headlights).

Hope that helps.

yep. same goes for the older body: GC-sedan and GF-wagon. Oh yeah, and I shouldn't forget the GM-coupe. The first letter "G" means Impreza. For the Legacy it is "B" and the forester is "S". The second letter tells what body style it has, then the third digit is a number that tells you what grade it is. The fourth one tells you which version it is. For example, my car's chassis code is

GC8E - Impreza Sedan Sti Version 4

Going back to the original topic, and example of the 2nd Generation Impreza would be:

GGAB - Impreza Wagon WRX "version 2"

hope that makes sense.
