Talking Raced a VTEC Prelude...

My friend has a red prelude VTEC, so i was chillin with him and decied to go to high st. the local lite to lite street where cars meet up. I had mixed feelings, i knew he had me w/ horse power, also he has 5spd, but then again i didn't want to lose to a honda. So we reved up the lite turned green and we were off, to my suprise i beat him two times in a row by half a car length, the distance was about a block/ block and a half between the lights but i was still proud, then we went to Route 422, for an all out race, i beat him again in the beginning, but lets just say i could tell when the vtec kicked in cus he was off after that. I was happy w/ the first two victories, even he was stunned when we got out to talk... Next race, 2000 saab viggen,,, wish i had a new wrx for that one.

Question

what level 'lude did you race? I if it was a SH or the level right below that one i'm looking for the BS flags ...don't you have 18's? that will really hurt performance too.

Thats what happend to me when I raced my friends Prelude SH. But we only did one light. He started to pull-a-way and then slowed down cuase he has 2 tickets and a accedent. That = 4 point. One more =no more driving for him.

1994 prelude VTEC should easily take out an RS. that was the fastest pruduction prelude ever. 0 to 60 6.7 seconds. either that was one hell of a short block or ur friend needs to learn how to drive.
the next level down was the Si and that was not VTEC. 160hp and 156 ft-lb of torque with a 2.3L engine. easy prey for the RS.

good kill either way.

I dunno. We raced one of our friends in a Prelude VTEC'ed out We had 4 of us poopheads in the subaru and only the driver in the prelude. The subaru kept up if not whooped it by about a carlength or a little less. The prelude driver is really good too.

ok the lude has 25 more hp almost as much torque and wieghs pretty much the same. and ur saying that u beat that car with three other people in ur car, so weighing 300 - 400lbs more than the lude, which has more power than u and revs to 7000+ rpms and teh ludes driver was skilled............u understand why thats hard to believe?

ya, no kidding, i think the story is BS, or the other driver had no idea what he was doing. Maybe his engine was cold and VTEC never came on(honda saftey feature), but who knows! I have a '97 SH so i might be a little biased, but there is a kid at my school who has a '94 VTEC as well, and i kicked the **** out of him. he has i/h/e, and i had CAI.

oh well...no fighting damnit, i hate the anti-honda **** i get everywhere.

The kid with the 94 Lude must not know how to drive, because my friend had a '93 VTEC Prelude & that thing was fast out of the box! Faster than the current gen Prelude too.

When you guys say VTEC Prelude, are you sure you're not just saying it's VTEC because it's a Honda? They were all VTEC of some sort, but the VTEC Prelude was the fast one.
