Default SOHC Head Stud Kits

here is the link to the original threads

Per popular demand we have begun finalizing details and production on a SOHC head stud package

I will be placing an order at the end of the week to ARP which is expected to take 4-6 weeks ( I am factoring in a week for the holidays).

$255 shipped is the starting price, customers ordering multiple sets will recieve an additional discount. Keep in mind these are a completly custom run of studs and this is why they are more expensive and the wait time is is so long.

Supplies will be limited for the time being so secure your order by calling. There will only be an initial run of 20 sets made up for the time being. This group buy will be open until all 20 sets are sold.

any further questions comments or concerns can be directed to either bottle or I, please feel free to e-mail or call.

thanks

Brad

Just to note, you should complain that they should be an actual production run since they screwed up their application information anyway.

a normal production run would take ATLEAST 9-10 weeks if they even considered doing it

Brad, how many of these are left? And will they work for the EJ257 short block with SOHC heads?

I still have a few sets left to pre order. On all of the phase 2 motors (and possibly the phase 1 motors) the bottom end is the same and the heads are what makes a particular application require a different stud/bolt..

in short.... yes they will work for your application

thanks

FOr clarificatin:

The phase 1 motors have identical head mating surfaces and bolt pattern.

Other things are different, but the heads are interchangeable.

What this means for head studs is that if you want a SOHC head on either block you need the SOHC head studs. If you want DOHC heads on either block you need DOHC head studs. If the bolt patterns are the same, you can use the correct head studs with the correct heads on any bolck (matching coolant channels ect is another matter entirly, and may not be perfect, ie EJ22t block with SOHC heads form a 2.5)

Basically, as you torque down the studs to bolt the heads to the block, the studs stretch a tiny bit. This reduces the torque, and you have to re-torque them. The ARP studs stretch less so they have a different torquing procedure.

Brad- I need a set of the SOHC studs. Is PayPal cool or should I just call tomorrow?

the difference is that these are made specifically for the SOHC heads which require a bit taller of the studs. the ones you pointed out were for the DOHC motors

the reason these are so expensive is because we had to do an inital run as a custom set.

I still have a few sets left in stock.

thanks

the only thing that I can really get is the OE gauge hosusing. which requires a bit of modification to fit gauges in.
