He's talking about Champps in New Berlin. It's on the corner of Moorland and Greenfield. I'd be up for that. The other place I was going to suggest was Mongolian BBQ, which I haven't been to in awhile, it's on HWY100. Not really a meeting spot since it's pretty small but I like the food.

Mongolian BBQ is the bomb. I'd go there over Champs any day, but you're right, it isn't very meet friendly, unless it's a small group.

It is a small group, and it looks like its going to get even smaller: I'm not going to be able to make it.

Sorry,
Masuo

I'm feeling a bit under the weather as well, and I'm not sure I'll make it. May just work on the car for a little while after work.

Speakin' of working on the car...

Put a new battery in my car this morning. As usual when these kind of things happen, I had to get back to the office ASAP to return some parts we had made at a fab shop in Hartford.

I was [Metallica] killin' time [/Metallica] at the local K-Mart picking up a couple of things I needed while waiting for the work to be done at the fab shop. Picked up the new Dave Matthews concert CD set and got in the car. Held down the eject button on the OEM disc-changer. The first three discs came out. The 4th disc apparently got stuck. The display read CD - ALL and stayed on whether or not the key was in the ignition. Got pissed off and yanked the deck out. Unplugged it. Plugged it back in. Heard the deck put the 4th disc back in its place and turn off. Put my dash back together. Turned the ignition switch to the Accessory position. CD-changer worked fine. Went to start the car. *CLICK! CLICK! CLICK!* FORK! Battery's hosed.

I was gonna change the stock battery soon, anyway, but I wasn't planning on doing it this morning while I was supposed to be working. Since I was in the parking lot at K-Mart, I said to myself, I said, "Self, I wanted a new battery anyway. Here's your excuse to get one." So I go back in the store and they apparently only carry Champion brand batteries. Could be worse. Find the catalog to see which battery I need. Catalog only shows up to model year '01, so the WRX isn't listed. So I picked out the battery for the '01 Outback Sport and hoped that they hadn't changed the batteries since it looked like they'd been using that same battery form factor for the past few years. So I dropped $55 for a new Champion battery. Dual terminal. 630 CCA.

So I get to the car. Open the hood and realize that I took my tools out of my trunk when I moved to my new apartment. FORK! AGAIN! So drag my sorry butt back into K-Mart for the third time now to go get a set of wrenches so I can change my battery. Started thinking once I got in there. Metric or SAE? Umm... Crap, I dunno. It's a Japanese car, so it's probably metric, but I'm not sure. Found a cheap set that had both metric and SAE sizes. Go back out and take out the old battery. Drop in the new one. What? The positive terminal wire isn't long enough to reach? FORKED AGAIN! Subaru only gives enough slack to connect to batteries with the terminals located near the rear of the cell, which works for a majority of batteries, I suppose. But not the one that I have, of course. Decided I wasn't gonna go back in there a 4th time to look for an extension. Not sure K-Mart even carries them. So I got it kinda jury rigged back together. Battery isn't completely secure, but it'll get me to the AutoZone by my apartment to pick up an extension and get it secured properly.

Was thinking maybe I should go find me an Optima red-top battery somewhere and take the Champion battery back to K-Mart and tell them it was the wrong size or something.

*EDIT* : Jebus! Didn't realize the price on the Optima batteries was that high. I think maybe I'll stick with the $55 Champion battery and take my old one in for the $6 core exchange K-Mart has.

I got one at Batteries Plus awhile ago, I know a few places sell them. Good batteries, kind of on the expensive side though.
