Default Is it just me or is the silver touch-up paint nothing like the paint on the car?

I just threw some touch-up paint onto a chip on my 2004 Silver WRX and It seems like the 2 colors aren't even close. The touch up paint seems darker than the "factory" paint. Is this normal? I'm pretty sure I got the right color paint since I got it straight from my Subaru dealer. I have yet to Langka it, so it is still a messy blob...

If I put a layer of clear coat on top of it, will that help smooth out the color difference?

Sedona Red touchup paint doesn't match well either -- it's darker than the factory paint.
