Has anyone figured out what exactly this does yet? Or is it still the "it works" answer?

Why not go directly to the source who manufactured it.
http://www.torquechip.com/

I don't see install instructions for v 1.0, but email Al, and I'm sure he can help you.

No, I have no idea what version you have.

More then likely, you don't. I have version 2.4 or something like that, and it's in a completely different style case.

Email Al at torquechip, and I'm sure he can tell you what version it is. I know he keeps track of s/n's on the new ones and what version they are.

BTW....if your chip turns out not to work with an auto, I'm looking to sell mine. Due to the age of my car/ecu....I just don't think the chip worked as well as it would on a newer car.

let me know if interested.

It looks like a version 2 for manual tranny 1993 - 2004 subaru.

Ask Al@torquechip.com for the instructions

These chips remove the factory 3 psi overboost limiter, remove the 112mph speed limiter on older models, advance the timing only when not under boost, and impedes the long term fuel trim so the ECU can learn faster which changes in mods and weather.
