Default K&N filter

I just received my intake today from a selller on ebay. It has a K&N style cone filter. I noticed it has some sort of oil throughout the filter. Ive read that this oil can interfere with the MAF. Is this true? what esle should I know? Thanx

The oil is needed for the filter to do its job. The oil is what catches the smaller particles. But over oiling will effect the MAF.

that I know becuase I use real K&N filters on my ATV's, and know that they use a type of oil, but I heard that the oil interferes with the subies MAF. How come the cone filter I have right now doesnt require oil but the K&N "style" filter does?
