Question Sep. 3rd Solo II in Nazareth?

I'm really new to this Solo stuff and i really want to go somewhere with my RS. So I read somewhrere that there is a auto-X event at nazareth this sunday. I won't race or anything but it sounds like fun anyway.

Is there anybody going to this event?

I'll be up there, and probably a couple others as well. The STS class (me and some other scoobies) is going to run 1st thing in the morning. GS (even more scoobies) will run in the afternoon.

Even if you are coming just to check things out, tell Gino, the Nazareth Speeday guy at the gate that you are there to race. He is supposed to let people through either way, but he is cranky.

Question

O.K. So at the gate i tell em I'm there to race, then they let me in. is it a big deal to be in the pit area and not race? And do u pay as u enter the gates? HOPEFULLY IT IS NICE OUT!

You come in, drive through the tunnel, up the hill and go left and park in the gravel instead of going right and parking in the pits.

You pay at registration, no fee to come watch. It is nicer when the weather cooperates, but it can be a lot of fun driving when it doesn't

Miracle Worker,
Why not just race if you're going to be there? All you need is $20 and a drivers licence. It really isn't a big deal, everyone is really friendly and I promise you that you'll have a blast. Here is a link with some "first timer" info:
http://autox4u.com/novice.htm

I'm not sure if I'm going to make it to this one. I'll be down the shore and that's a hike to get up to Nazareth. But then again I can't just let Kelley win STS w/o any competition

Yeah, race! Even if I'm not near my car, I'll have the Cruise Night flyers under a windshield wiper with $5 off coupons for first timers. I keep trying to tell a couple of my friends that it's no big deal. One of them drives NYC rush hour traffic like a bat out of hell, but doesn't want to AutoX because it will "strain" his car.

Whatever.

Yeah, look for my car, steal a coupon:

No worries, it is on SUNDAY. Show up at 8:30 if you want to drive in the morning, or 11:00 AM if you want to drive in the afternoon. If you want to drive competitively in your class, you need to figure out when it is running.

This weekend STS runs first thing in the morning and GS runs in the afternoon session.

The times and classes are listed at the phillysolo links above.

Cool

Folks,

I'll be in the area for the weekend and would love to drive in the autocross. Problem is that I can't find any details on pre-registering for it or how to get there. I have a family thing Sunday afternoon in Roseto, so maybe I can squeeze in a few runs first thing in the morning. Any information would be appreciated. Please PM or E-mail me.

Thanks, Dan Z.

Hey guys,

You don't need to pre-register for the Philly region events. We are getting more participants all the time, but still not so many that we need to start turning people away

With a Stromung you are okay for G-Stock class. The stock class allows you a catback exhaust.

Unless you really want to be scored with the rest of your class, come to whichever session is most convenient. You'll be able to compete.

I will be able to spend time with people in the afternoon if they want car setup help or would like someone to watch their runs and give some advice. If people are interested we may also be able to try recording some runs with GEEZ. I have been using it to analyze my driving this season.

Directions To Nazareth

From NJ take 78 West to last exit before PA. Exit at Phillipsburg, Rt 22 west. Stay on this road for maybe 3-5 miles. You will go over a toll bridge, maybe 50 cents. This is still 22 west, you will stay on this road for maybe 10-15 min and you will exit at Rt.191, Nazareth Pike. At end of exit ramp make a right. Stay on this road for maybe 5 miles. The track will be on the left behind some houses. You will make a left at GATE 1. Go to the tunnel straight ahead and make a right..

From Philly Area. Turnpike or 309 north to Lehigh Valley/Route 22 east. East to Route 191, Nazareth Pike (about 7 or 8 miles), then 191 north. Track is on your left, about 3 or 4 miles north of 22. Enter gate 1(between the houses) the waivers.

I'm trying to get my friends with there MY00 Mustangs GT's to come but they're not sure yet. Acually they arn't sure their mustang can take the strain. What's the point of having a Performance car when you never let it perform. I guess its the same as buying a pickup and never putting anything in the bed. People sure are weird!!!

Miracle - Yeah, a stock RS with just an exhaust is still stock, so you'd be in GS.

Kelley - I'd be more than interested in trying out the GEEZ! Took a look at the page...looks awesome! I've already got a Palm, so I'm halfway there!
