Question Quiet Tires

I know it's time to talk "snow" tires but I want to research the quietest and smoothest summer only tires. I have dedicated winter tires. The size will be 17" by 7.5", car is stock WRX. The car isn't road raced nor pushed to it's handling limits. So I looking for quiet/smooth = great, handling good (but better than 92's of course )

falken azenis st-115's should be exactly what you are looking for.
Supposed to be extremely quiet, have great wet and dry traction, and decent tread life. I almost bought a set but decided to go with more grip/more noise - Falken fk-451's.

...and the best part - they are under $100 for 225-45-17

Bridgestone RE-750 is quieter than the Falken, in fact it's about the quietest summer tire out there. The 750 costs about $150 a pop, but you get what you pay for. The TW rating is 340 or 320 (I can't remember) so they are fairly long lasting too. I have a set on my WRX and am very happy with them.

It's too bad the Firestone's don't come in 225/45/17.

Yoko ES-100 is not as quiet as the RE-750, but is decent.

Ummm, I got mine at Discount Tire - not sure why you couldn't find them at their web site. They can get any Falken tire, although they do not list all of them on www.tires.com.

So they could be a little louder, but more comfortable.

Any dp test on these tires? I found one on the Falken ST-115 but unforunately not comparing between any of these three tires; ST-115, RE-750, SZ50 EP.

The majority of reviews are just opinions, I was surprised in subarureview that several replies said the RE-750 where loud.

Anybody know the answer for all season tires? Looking at the ContiExtremes and SP5000. Thanks.

I have extremes in both 16" and 17". I'm going to sale the 215/45-17's and just use the 16's for winter. Overall I like the contiextremes. They are okay with noise UNTIL I get on concrete streets with grooves in them, then they get real loud. (main driver is 50+, we want quiet). Rain they are good, snow they are good, they're a good all around "all season" tire.
