Default Midpipe ideas

I put a 2.5RS muffler on my 2.2L last night. While it was off I had to start it and hear what it sounded like. It sounded wonderful but not as loud as I expected. I figure the resonator was taking care of it.

Now here's the thing. I want it to be a bit louder. Could I have a shop make me up a new midpipe without the resonator? Would it make a difference or am I wasting my money?

Do it. Should be cheap.
I've got a wrx rear section to put on my 01 RS. I'll have the exhaust shop make a midpipe without the resonator. I've read about some gains and slightly louder note. It'll probably be a few weeks till I do it though. Maybe I'll come back and post when it happens.

I figure it will be about $40 to have the pipe done. For that price I could have them make one for older RS mufflers and one so I can bolt up a WRX can.

if you got a WRX cat-back... just use it.... it is a 2.25" exhaust and flows MUCH better than an RS....
