Angry Dirty thieves can't stay in Dirty Jersey!!!

So I got the car jacked up today swapping on the S03's for the winters when out of the corner of my eye I notice some 'dirt' or crap on my front passenger side door handle. Now it curiosity gets the better as I wonder there hasn't been any rain lately and I haven't run thru some mud or puddles. Needless to say I find this:

So I'm just a little pissed now. I figured it happened last night when I was at school. I goto LaGuardia College in L.I.City. My car was parked in the street in a well lit & well traveled area. My guess the punk stepped up and quickly tried to pop my door lock. The door key mechinism broke and I guess he gave up and left. He didn't manage to pop open the door lock otherwise my alarm would have triggered. What gets me is that my alarm didn't even trigger a warning. I guess he didn't make enough movement to trigger the shock sensor... argh!!!!! Usu. when I walk out from school and the alarm gives the chrips that it was tripped, I do a complete walkaround to check things out. Most often it's some arse who bumped into the car while parking. My key doesn't work in the door anymore but the actual lock still opens and closes in the inside with the power door locks as well as the outside latch. This is such a pain. Now I'll have to get the entire door repainted in addition to a new lock cylinder/handle depending on what he broke.... I'd like to break a few things of his....

Default Looks amateur to me...

Especially trying to go through the passenger door?!
I'm not going to give anything away but from the looks of things, they wouldn't have gotten away with your car regardless.

That sux... that's the way to get into a BMW, but there are much easier ways of entering Subarus!

Time to get that beater on the road!

Unfortunately NY/NJ has more than it's fair share of scumbags.

Also, I'm guessing it wasn't last night b/c it takes about a week (if not longer) for the rust to develop like that. Being that your car's silver you would have missed the chipped paint before it rusted.

Not so Mike. Rust are like Bunny Rabbits, hence "Rust Bunnies".
Rust can and will form w/i 24hrs.

They weren't from NJ or they would have gotten the car.

Major bummer to find things like that though.

heh I would put the beater on the road 'cept it's sooo much more fun to drive with my snow tires in the subie Plus the beater is only FWD & even if i got snowies for it, it'll still suck.... not to mention it's throwing CE's like crazy and in limp mode, won't let me rev about 3k

BTW anyone ever had something like this done to their car? What's the cost of repair for the door handle lock mechanism? Or what's the worst case scenario damage wise?

thx for the support!

KEEP RALLYING (i mean DRIFTING in the snow...)
