Default northeastern is among us..

I don't know about everybody else dealing with the storm today, but its the first time i had a chance to test out the AWD in my '04 wrx..

let me say first that i come from RWD muscle ('78 malibu, 383 stroker) and FWD rice (turbo'd 2.2 vtec '97 cl)... and the subaru takes all hands down as my favorite.. i feel so confident in the snow and i still have the power i want for everyday use.. i just want to slap some hankooks on and take to the streets to take full advantage of the car..

ANYBODY ELSE HAVIN FUN DOING SNOW DONUTS WITH THE STOCK BRIDGY RE'S??

i know i am!!!

definitely, didn't go to work today so i went out to see how well the car handles in the snow. better than the explorer i had. made the rear slide out and it immediately caught traction.

haven't found a parking lot that hasn't been plowed to have some fun yet tho. maybe tomorrow.

I love the snow... Can't wait for some hand brake action on the way-out-back roads.

Yeh here in Maine we are supposed to get 12+ inches by sunday. ATVing in the snow is so fun! cant wait. Unfortunatley it is also a sad weekend for me because I am putting the subie away for the winter

After work today I stopped at a garage and had my Bridgestone Blizzaks mounted before my 50mi commute back home in the storm. I ran the last two winters with the RE92s but with the new Blizzaks on this car is transformed. Basically no ice or snow or incline will stop this car. Well almost.....as long as the snow is not over the bumper.

I sure wish it would snow here in Alabama. I'm almost thinking about traveling all the way up there just to know what it's like to drive my Subie in snow.

My first time with the WRX in the snow. I almost cried cause of the Zaino shine she still had. But she had to be let loose. We got about 3-4 here in CT. I was driving around the WRX for a few hours looking for empty parking lots. At one point I was about to do another donut but I hadn't launched yet, a cop comes over his loud speaker, "There is a street ban no cars parked overnight, they will be towed" He left I did a donut, and left. Fun times. But even with AWD it helps but doesn't protect. The first snow storm lets me know by next year I need better brakes, and snow tires. The stock are good but downhill above 15mph is not cool. I slid past 3 STOP signs, good thing there was no major oncoming traffic. So be careful out there, use common sense. Thread easy.

after yesterday i went and got blizzaks at the local shop this morning - stockers were slicks - it has changed this car completely.. i am now driving like i always do on dry pavement (cept for constant slideways drifts and donuts)..
