Default I finally beat an SRT-4 today!!!!!!

........Yes it is snowing. I just wanted to comment on how SUPRISINGLY incredible my tires are in this weather. I could be the only person dumb enough to run OZ SLs in the winter, but I do. I bought 225/45/17 HTR+'s two months ago as a decent affordable A/S tire. I can NOT believe how great they were this morning in the snow. I went from Center City Philly where I live to the burbs NE of Philly and they were incredible. The are felt so stable (I also have Eibachs). It is a great feeling seeing RWD F250s spinning up hills while the Suby just pulls. I definitely realize my driving skills, and I know my last name isn't Solberg, but I just wanted to comment on how well my A/S wheel/tire package worked (.....and if I wanted, I could beat an SRT-4 in the snow).

Agreed! I run the same tires on my P7s and I leave them on in the winter too. Screw it! Why own a supposedly indestructible rim and only use it in the summer? IMO, these rims were meant for weather like this! Go for it!

I beat a Hyundai Tiburon in the same respect. But the guy was really trying to race me. I had to back off b/c I thought he would spin into me.

BTW, I run 205/55/16 snow tires.

I raced a squirrel in my work truck. Lost he made it to the finish line 1st. I guess the he had the squirrel traction button on. Man traffic sucked last night on I-95. Over 6 hours of 10 mph yesterday. I left New London, CT about 3pm didnt make it home till after 9pm

That's surprising to hear... I'm on my second season of my WinterSport M2's, and last night I was motoring past everyone, even the idiots in the SUV's who think that just because they have 4WD they are Almighty. Hah!

I can get the car to lose traction at will, but if I drive correctly, ain't nothing stopping me ('cept maybe getting stuck behind the plow/sanding trucks... ).

I'm in Northern NJ and I went out yesterday and today and I have Dunlop M3's on stock WRX wheels. Sure they will break loose from a standing start, if given enough gas, but once they get going they are great. I have all sorts of snow tires before on both FWD and RWD cars. These tires appear to be just as good as any other with the possible exception of my old Blizzaks. Had those on a '95 Miata, and with some weight in the trunk, the car was unstoppable. Never had a worry with those tires.

You are not the only one running low profile tires in the snow, I use Blizzak LM22 215/45/17 on the wagon, and they are amazing. Much better than the Pirelli P6 All Season came from Volvo stock.

I have the Dunlop M3 tires in 225/40/18 on my Suby. Compaired to the stockers, its a night and day difference. I am totally amazed by these tires. When I was stuck in traffic on friday, everyone was spinning and slidding. My Suby just drove away like there was no snow at all. When I took it out for a little fun,it goes where ever I want the car to go. Driving around normal the car will not loose traction, only if I want it to!
