Default please help, will an 02 RS exhaust fit a GC8?

Hey everyone, as the title states, I am trying to figure out if a 2002 2.5RS stocker will fit on my GC8...I searched for about an hour and came up with nothing.
Thanks
Josh

the muffler definately fits. i believe the midpipe needs to have flanges rotated though.

No, the flanges only need to be rotated if the exhaust is going from a WRX to an RS, or vice versa.

The 02RS also has an extra cat so your midpipe not fit, not unless that second cat is being replaced by the midpipe itself.

For the most part, it should bolt up with no problems.

Hmm, maybe it's a Canadian thing - my friend's 02RS had a second cat, and I've seen pictures of people's 02 RS's with this "extra cat". I'm not talking about the resonator though.

In any case, things should bolt up with no probs.

what looks like a cat (silver) is actually a pre-res chamber. The cylinder is the resonator.

Yes, the 3rd muffler hangar is located in a different spot. Easy to fix though for any muffler shop.

does the piping diameter differ between the two exhausts? why not save up for an aftermarket system? i wouldnt expect any gain or any change in sound from the stock 02rs exhaust. are you doing it to replace a rusted out old system?

im not sure what your intentions are but i would say get an exhaust shop to make you a midpipe.. this is cheap.. and then just purchase an aftermarket axleback.

Oh, I am demodding my car and this is the last thing I have to go. I have a rallispec stainless exhaust but I stupidly threw my stocker away about 2 years ago so I need a stock one in trade and a guy that wants my rallispec has an 02 RS.

machineage:
I would love to not have to rely on a local sale, but its ONE piece...about 10 feet long and not very shippable. Freight would just be too expensive, so I am just looking for a trade as of now.

Looks like it'll be a straight swap. If memory serves me correct, it looks like the "post cat" is just an addition to the midpipe, just before the resonator. Off to the left of the picture, you can see the tail end of the main cat with the rear O2 sensor hanging off of it.

Should be a straight swap, with minor hanger modifications if needed.

Good luck!
