Question Help: Dealer-Installed Alarm too Sensitive???

Anyone had a problem with their dealer-installed Subaru Security Systems being too sensitive?
Mine keeps chirping outside the door at work. I can't find the sensor. Maybe I was around too many loud systems this w/e at Moroso? Maybe it's too sensitive? Maybe someone else's keyless entry somehow de-programmed mine? (I was with six other 95-01 RS's.)

The sensor is ususally mounted on the steering column. There is a little white knob that you can adjust the sensativity with.

The shock sensor is mounted to the steering column under the dash. It's a small black box with a white adjustment screw and a LED on it. You can adjust the sensitivity by turning the adjustment screw. If the LED stays on, it is set at it's most sensitive setting.

I actually have mine adjusted all the way down and the damn thing still is too sensitive. Worst part is that I work at a place that is located basically at the end of a runway at O'Hare airport (a city in itself the damn thing is so big). So about 75% of the time I come out of work to find my alarm has gone off during the day.

Question

Does the car need to be on? I don't see a red light on mine. Also, what's that square whole next to the transmitter activator button? Is something supposed to be there? I have a 01 sedan BTW.

He he....funny thing happened last night. I can shut my trunk without it even chirping too, but last night I shut the little storage compartment lid on the top of the dashboard, and it chirps at me.

I guess the sensor is actually located under the steering wheel. I would've thought they would have put more than one on it.

Huh... I have the exact opposite problem. Someone hit my car right outside my window and my alarm didn't go off!

Well, I shall now re-adjust... Thanks!

I pulled the little black knob off now...I'm such a ditz some times. . but on the 2001 it's a black knob not white. (Carlos had a 99 at the dealer that he compared to mine) But now it's fine!
Thanks guys!
