Thumbs up FIA Truck racing

Finally some truck racing that I can understand. I never really understood the Winston Truck thing. Then I get a chance to watch some FIA Truck racing tonight. It was pretty cool! Nothing like watching some Caterpillar, Mercedes, Peterbuilt, and Mac trucks race around a track on the stock tires with very few mods. They lower the trucks and add some safety features but that is it. The races were pretty funny to watch with most of the trucks bumping their way around the track. Oh and they spray water onto the brakes during the races to cool the brakes. Its odd seeing steam coming out of the wheel wells. Now those were some races I could deal with seeing on Speedvision. Oh and the theres actually going to be some FIA GT racing on later tonight. About damn time Star Sports!

yep seen the truck series a few times at silverstone and Lyden hill in the UK ..... really really fun stuff - wish speedvision would get off the boat and plane stuff as well as the good ole boy nascar stuff and show us some decent European racing instead

Just my 10 pence, cents, yens, marks, francs, phennigs worth

Its on the Chinese Sports channel called Star Sports. I'd like to see this stuff on Speedvision though. Speedvision used to show a clip fromt he truck racing in its promos witht he truck going off the track and hitting the wall directly infront of the camera and the window busts throughing glass all over the camera. These trucks use every inch of the track. Including the dirt shoulder. I'm sure Speedvision is probably airing something about classic airplanes right now though.

I've actually seen this type of truck racing on Speedvision, but not very often. They have a European (AFAIK) show called Motorsport Mundial, basically all kinds of cool motorsports that Americans don't appreciate. They've had rallycrosses (racing rally cars on a closed course that's partly paved, partly off road), Isle of Man TT, WRC action, and the aforementioned trucks.

Those things are really cool. It would be nice if they showed more stuff like that.
