Question Red dust(?) around A/C Pulley

My RS has about 50k miles and I noticed some red colored dust around the the A/C pulley. I thought it was rust at first but it much more of a red than a rust color. I call it dust but I can't wipe it off. I can only remove it if I scrape it off. The car runs fine and I have no problems. Any one else have this on their car?

red dust is from clutch mechanism used on the a/c system to engage/disengage the a/c compressor.

I used a dremel and a nylon brush attachment. also nice for taking light oxidation off aluminum. just make sure it's nylon and not a metal brush. even brass will scratch up aluminum.
