Thumbs up Chassis brace, Eng/Tranny Mounts, SAMCO rad hoses

Big Thanks to the gang at TOTAL and to bender for all your help and efforts installing this stuff for me yesterday.

CHASSIS BRACE:
==========================
The chassis brace is indeed awesome. I think this may be another "under-rated" mod.
Steering feedback is MUCH IMPROVED. I can honestly say I feel the difference even with my 205/55/16 winter tires, and STOCK WRX wagon suspension and swaybars. Though I got mine through a group buy, I know that Jamie and Cody said they can weld one up for you if you want.
(Benjamin Tang - maybe you should try one of these before investing in an Sti steering setup )

Here's a link to my review in the car parts forum:

ENGINE/TRANNY MOUNTS:
==========================
As many have reported, you will definitely feel more "CONNECTED" to the drivetrain. You'll feel it through your hands/balls of your feet/and seat. Feedback through Upshifting/Downshifting, throttle release/application is much more immediate ("floaty" feeling is gone). I've read all the threads about the increased NVH, and it's true, it's there -- but I'd say its only really noticeable when the A/C compressor kicks in and under moderate-hard acceleration.

I would say of the NVH - it is like:
- slight Noise increase,
- mainly Vibration increase ("the song "Good Vibrations..." pops into my head),
- little - if any Harshness increase.

I took my gf for a ride and she noticed the NVH alright - but not quite the same way we drivers notice it --
She noticed it not with a "wow" but -- by prompty falling asleep

You know how if you rock a baby gently - it will fall asleep? or if you ride the transit bus, you tend to doze off easy due to its engine vibrations? Well, she said the subtle vibrations made her really sleepy, and she fell asleep within 5 mins of riding in the car

ie:
-- Engine mounts ~80-100 bucks
-- Tranny mount ~100 bucks
-- Being able to see your passenger fall FAST ASLEEP within minutes of driving ~PRICELESS

SAMCO Radiator Hoses:
==========================
Was a slight pain to get all the air bubbles out of the coolant system (THANKS a bunch, cody, bender and jamie!) BTW - Jamie, the cooling is all good now - no more hydrolocks. If anything, I notice water temp gauge gets up to operating temp much faster than before (either due to the hoses, new coolant, or both I'm not entirely sure).

Once again, thanks to Jamie, Cody, and Bender for all their help.

what chassis brace are u using? i stopped thinking about it when someone i used to know tore the cusco one he had right out from under his car on a speed bump and his car was higher than mine

thinking about this one though http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=459887

the reason i liked the sti steering is because i don't need so many turns lock to lock.

Dendrobium, glad to hear everything is ok and that there was a noticeable improvement. If you are looking for things to make your GF fall asleep quickly why not bring her to the X-Mas dinner this weekend!!

And Bender, thanks again for lunch!
