Default climate confusion is now "what the hell"

when going up a hill in my GL it switches from defrost to just the front vents then when i level out it goes back

is there just a weak flap in there or something thats controlling the air? does it mean anything bad? does anyone know

let ME know
thanks
alex

the flaps work on vacuum, so u either have a vacuum leak somwhere or if your car has a 'vacuum ball' or 'can' it may not be connected still. if there is a loss of vacuum the flaps will all open. like driving WOT while pumping brake, after the 3rd pump pedal is hard as a rock.
