magnecor.

I've had the 8.5mm since like 96.....still going strong. If you don't want to go magnecor, the NGK wires are good.

bringing this back from the dead... i'm being told that the sohc ej22 and the dohc ej22 do not share the same spark plug wires.... i can only find listings for sohc ej22.

as a 1995 legacy ej22... which motor do i have? sohc or dohc?

You have the sohc. I dont' think it's the engine as much as it is the distribution monitor on the top of the intake manifold, some of the plug wires for Subaru are male ends and some are female ends. i.e. I have to have plug wires that are a femail end but My step-brother has a '98 Legacy and he has to have male ended plug wires.

i'm getting confused by someone else... he's telling me that the ej22 went sohc in 1997

The main change for '97 was solid valve lifters. As to the wires, I am planning to get NGK, actually from a Canadian company named Clubplug whose prices seem the best.
