Question Who's in Super Street?

OK my old subscription is going to run out soon so I still get Stupid Street. In the Readers Rides section they've got a MY98 Subaru Impreza. Who's is it? Of all the mags to send it to why that one? Every month they say they are going to give more coverage to the other makes of cars and yet 3 of the 4 in this issue were Honda Civics. Every month they say the same thing then immediately put more Civictims in the mag. What a monumental waste of paper. If the Environmental Nazi's want to protest, how about that mag?

I agree with you, they should be called Super Honda magazine. About two months ago they had an article about the hks turbo Subaru, two pages, barely legible, pictures sucked. Then they spend atleast eight pages on drifting your car around a corner (not the fastest way around a corner) and done on public roads, not only that but around 15 pictures of two nasty cars in primer. I know they cover cars that attract advertisers who make parts for them and pay for the magazine but please. When my subscriptions up I won't renew, at least sports compact car has a project Impreza. Just my view.

Yea, I saw that last month. That mag has a history of choosing the absolutely "riciest" cars for their readers' rides sections. EVERY one of the profiles has the "I'm planning on installing a turbo and 175-shot nitrous and get my 1/4's down into the 12's" blah blah blah garbage. Please. I should send mine in and tell them about how I'm planning on taking out the 2.5 and replacing it with a 7.3L Turbo Diesel. It'll then do 0-60 in about 8.5s, but it'll tow 11,000 lbs!!

N/A, Basshead, WTF you guys talking about!
Are you guys now above everybody else? That
Suby belongs to a friend of mine and let me tell you that he has done as much or more
than anybody else in Hawaii to promote the
2.5 RS, yes, Basshead, that IS an RS. He is
one of the top 2 Suby autoxers (out of about
15 of us now) and also an I-club member! He
has also done well representing RS's at the
local dragstrip, doing as well as mid to low
15's and garnering some respect from H & A
boys, too. He was a "first" in many aspects
of the Impreza 2.5 in Hawaii so I think you
guys should get some facts before you speak.
Have a nice day...

Talking

The photo (unless I'm looking at a different
Super Street) caption says the car belongs
to Francis Lining from Mililani, Hawaii.

What the hell are you talking about? Am I above everyone else? Oh yah sure me and my 580hp RS. Just to be sure I read what I wrote three different times to see what your talking about. I still have no damn idea. Let's see now I said, "Who's is it? Of all the mags to send it to why that one?" How is that negative towards its owner? The point was that he should have sent it to a more reputable magazine. As far as me needing to get more facts go, wasn't that the damn point of posting the thread? You did read the title right? Who's in Super Street? That sounds like a question to me. Maybe your the one who needs to get the facts straight? Try to find a thread where I say something directly negative towards somebody other then Byron. If he wanted he could have got on here and explained why. That was the point of asking after all. I'm glad he places well in the RS crowd. Go ahead and promote the hell out of the RS. I don't think I ever said that the RS was a POS now did I? Please give my first post a read and if you still think it was an attack of the owner then fine. You have a right to your own opinion. The disrespect was aimed at the magazine and not the owner.

There was a rally blue 98 in this months readers rides and a 95 L in last months with the HKS RS. I posted about the L and was pretty sure about the 98 being part of the club. So stop the arguing about this as any press is good press even if it is Super Street (who is changing their all-honda like coverage).

N/A first of all are we, or you talking about
July's issue of Super Street? The one with the '98 Impreza RS with the caption Francis
Lining from Mililani, Hawaii? If not, I truly
appologize...wrong issue. But, from where I
was you questioned the sender's choice, sure
sounded like you were knocking my bud! I'd
do the same for you...or at least defend
your choice even if it was sent to "Stupid
Street"! Oh yes,...nice rant! And DO
have a nice day!

You're insane. That was a white L with shaved door handles and practically no other mods. It said so right on the page. It was an older model too, like a 94 or 95 or so, don't remember the exact year. I'll have to dig it out and find out. I think it even has the 110hp 1.8L. I got the impression they were making fun of Subarus with it too. It made the owner look like a dope and the rest of us look like third-world Geo Metro fanatics. I didn't care for it at all.

bryanw, let me know what issue that was if
you find it. If it does look like their
knocking Subys then I'll just have to
channel some rant their way! Thanks.

Ok, ok, my bad, you guys are absolutely
right! But I think that they more or less
try to put out a "comedy" mag. "Stupid
Street" is more appropriate. Maybe a sense
of humor...? Nah!
