Question Pro-Solo

Any of you Northern California guys going to the Pro-Solo race in Wendover next month, or is it just going to be Utah Subarus?

Wink

Sorry, already registered in STS as a 1 driver car. I'm not real big on loaning my car to strangers at races either, even another Suby guy. You could hitch a ride with me out to Wendover though. There are some rooms blocked off for SCCA at the Stateline, or Silversmith (they are owned by the same people). We have a room at the Days Inn, but there is already too many people in it I think. We are going out there Thursday night and coming back Sunday afternoon.

Well Spectre23, thats mighty friendly of ya. I appreciate the offer for a ride there. But seriously, why not let me drive it? Im the STS points leader trying to get a jump on Kansas without driving my car to Utah from MD. You would be helping a Subaru guy get ahead and possibly take home a ProSolo Class Championship for the year. I promise I wont break anything and Id even try not to hit any cones. And BTW, you can change anything on the registration up to saturday morning (just before the event starts). And adding the car as a two driver car is really no biggie for the wizards in Timing/Scoring. Plus Steve Wynne (the only person seriously in contention I have not raced against) will be there in his STS Neon. And my wife even OK'd the trip. Looks like all I need is a Subaru to drive. Think about it, please.

Cool

Hi Eric,

Well i have been toying with the idea of going to the Wendover event, But it is still 12+ hrs from me. I have never done a Pro-Solo so it might be fun, but maybe outa my league right now. And yes i am running a STs car..

I have a double points race here the same weekend, same format as a Prosolo.. But i I'll think about it..I have to go through Salt LAke too. HUmm.. I still need to get my clutch before then though.. Give me a day or two or e-mail me.

Thumbs up

OK Eric, I will let you race my car on a couple of conditions. I have never done a Pro-Solo before and this is my first year racing Autocross. Even so, I am doing very well in tough competition in my region which will be the majority pof our class in Wendover. So, I was expecting contingency money. I would hate to lose out on that in my own car. So, I get half of the winnings from Subaru and the Honda Challenge if you do well. Also, I could give up a little contingency money if you could hook me up with some of the Kartboy Solid Rear Droplinks. Those were going to be my next investment, those and the Cusco Lower Arm Bar. I may have the Cusco thing before we race. If Teagues or Autocare can get it soon enough. I just installed the Cusco rear strut tower brace after work today.

What kind of mods does your car have? Just wondering for similarity reasons.

Cool

Also, all of the above is negotiable of course. What do I need to do to add another driver to my car? And what fees are they going to charge us for doing so?

Smile

On another note, I would just like to comment that I love owning a Subaru. If we were HonDuh guys, we wouldn't even dream of having this type of conversation. I thoroughly (sp?) enjoy the connection that Suby owners share.

Laters,
Dave
(the only Dave in the Utah members section if you want to see what you might be getting into as far as mods, Eric)

Damn, all kinds of offers.

Ok, Eric G. you think about it, Ill email you.

Spectre23, ouch. We could definity work something out. I dont have Kartboys links yet, so no can do on that one. Ill email you tomorrow with some options. You would not have to do anything as far as registration is concerend, I would just add 100 to your number and that would be my number (if you are say car #50, I would register to be car #150) I still need to get my butt out there somehow...BTW are you LDS? Not that it matters to me either way, just checking. I am not.

Thanks alot guys, I really appreciate the help. That 2240 mile drive (one way) is a bit much. And dont worry about it being a first ProSolo event, they flow very well and everyone is as helpful as always. What I do suggest in terms of preparation is go to the drag strip and work on RT and 60' times. To compare, I am pretty consistent with mid .5 RT and 2.0-2.1 60' times at sea level.

mods include the Kartboy Shifter and Bushing set. Its so sweet! Tein Type HA, camber plates, Whiteline 18-20-22 bar, Greg's links (soon to be replaced by Kartboys bad ass links), MRT intake, Borla Headers, SPT exhaust, 24psi turbo (haha, I wish), Kumho tires and rallispec corner weighted. thats about it...or atleast all Im talking about

thanks again guys.
Edit-I already figured that one out, Mr.Benson. Nice wing.
Edit 2-opps, forgot to mention the UD pulley.

I was thinking about it some more tonight. I was probably just being greedy. I think it would be good to see what my car could do with someone behind the wheel that knows what they are doing. I think my car can do a lot better than I am making it do. Besides that, we can't be letting a neon beat out the Subies! So, how about just gas money and 20% of the winnings?

Well, Ive been kicking around the idea of flying out and co driving someones car. Anybody got a STS Impreza they'd like to share? Id need a ride from Salt Lake airport and a place to stay too. There must be plenty of Hotel space around there too, it looks like there are some Nevada Casino's real close to Wendover.

Any takers? I could bring some parts like the sway bar and links to put on if needed.
