Post What the my02 will mean to me.

When the my02 hits american shores it will surely take off and run away with the subcompact sport car market, that is if they come with all that they have been hyped up to be. This will inevitably lead to the rapid developement of Impreza desire, perhaps even to Honda Civic proportions. What will this mean to me? Well, as the owner of a my00 2dr, it will mean that my car will be locked into a place in car history. That is, it will be (as well as the 98-01s) the car that started it all in the united states. Also, since the big rush will occur after the body changes, it will remain as unique as the day I bought it. This makes me happy. I hope it makes you happy too. Beuhler? Beuhler?

Does it really matter to most people? Did anybody begin to worship the Audi 80/90 after the A4 was a huge success?

The Audi wasn't half as bold a design as the A4, while the current RS is just as dramatic, if not a little more aggressive looking, than the new turbo. That oughta make a difference. Though there's no way to know until then, as it could wind up like the Audi scenario too.

There are two ways the WRX will hit: it either changes EVERYTHING, or it is priced at $27k, no one buys it, and it changes NOTHING. The key is price, most everyone would rather have an A4 1.8t if it inches towards the $30k mark. Not me, but most americans...

If they can keep it at $25 or less, I really think this will change how people think about performance cars in the US. Look what happened in UK with the turbo. All these little american car magazines keep running their cover articles about the ferrari 360 spider, the Z8, Saleen Vs. whatever. Little do they know that the WRX is potentially the most important new car in the last 15 years...

For me personally, I'm not sure I can afford a $25k car new, I might have to just get a used RS...
