Default what wrx to get

I'm lookin to get a wrx in spring. would I benefit gettin a new rex or go after a used one. I know that when bying used you could get someone else's probs. I do plan on aftermarket mods but limited to a strict budget for now. Just some info or experince from others would be very helpfull thanks

I think it depends. I bought my WRX used with low miles and a lot of upgrades, it was in perfect condition and I saved a lot of money on upgrades, I got pretty lucky. Most people will tell you not to buy a modded car.

Used would be good. Try to get one off grandma, or someone old. I seen an old guy selling a sliver one over here where i live. I waved at him... then i think he called the police on me. Don't buy anything with mods on it, chances are they drove it hard... i do.

Personally, I always prefer to buy new.......unless it's a particular model/style that is no longer offered and I really want it.

The biggest mistake I made was buying a brand new WRX. Unless I fall into a ton of money, I will probably never buy a new car again.

Buying a used car saves you money mostly on the depreciation.

At the time my WRX was $25,xxx out the door. I could have bought a used WRX with under 10,000 miles (pretty much brand new) for around $20,000. I wish I would have done that. The second my new WRX drove off the lot it was worth maybe $20,000.

USed with <15,000 miles is the way to go.

I second that. Get an 01 RS with 20,000 miles for $14k and use the extra money to MOD MOD MOD.

I disagree with the "don't buy modded cars" idea. That isn't always an indication of future problems. You could be worst off buying a used stock car that never had maintenance and was not taken care off, opposed to a car with mods that was babied and had a few good runs. There is a diffrence between driving hard within it's limits and beating a car. So new or used, shop for the best deal, with what you want for a car now and down the road for aftermarket mods, if that is your plan.
