Post 1/4 World WRX Record Tumbles

We are happy to announce the Rigoli car has now done 10.28 pass on Friday Night in Brisbane QLD.

This is a testimony to components used.

Suffice to say the sequential shifter, stroker kit, DogGear Set is working well..

Thumbs up

So, if it was a 2.0 stroked, could have been a 2.5 or less.

I say we yanks build up a 2.5 motor and claim the title, let us Puertoricans do the job (we do have the fastest 4 cylinders arround )

I have acces to a couple of engines and just are going to order the internals (pistons, rods, and have a stronger crank)

We should get the people who do the cylinder re-enforsments for hondas(the one you put between cylinder and block) so we could close the deck and boost some more!

hehehe,
Just having fun here.

OK, I don't believe you. I really don't. Nowhere is there a modification list, pictures, timeslips, video, anything! If you do have something, post an URL.

When Brett Middleton was in the states recently, I was fortunate enough to go to dinner with he, Dale Teague, and Jerry Hagan. He said that BPM and a few other places had some WRX's doing consistent low 10 second runs and he felt that someone soon was going to hit the 9's in a WRX. If you cannot believe it from someone with the rep of Brett, then I don't know who you will believe.

DBRONX [A heavily modified WRX running the new BPM 2.28 stroker, BPM drivetrain,BPM exhaust etc] will probably be taking the record off Rigoli very shortly and then Rigi will take it back and so it goes on...

We are predicting these vehicles and a few others will by the end of January have hit the 9s....

For those wanting a full spec list of what the vehicle has done in regards to mods, it should be found with a search on this bbs.

I cant seem to locate the thread..

Yeah, and get this...they did it on 17" wheels with street tires. Falken Azenis to be exact. Gave them a taller ratio. The Rigoli's have also built up a customer's LEGACY which runs 10.87 @ 134mph.

Afterwards, the same night, Dom Rigoli had the street exhaust back on and was out that night with the car doing the local cruise. My mate runs with them, so that's how I know what I do. He's my Rigoli spy.

Oh, and there's another WRX already running 9's. Not 9.99 but SOLID 9's It's been done in private testing and I've seen the video (not digital..sorry). It'll make a big splash....soon. And no, it's not Byron. :P

Anyway, congrats to the Rigoli's! There are a few US-based cars getting built this winter so hopefully North America will give some of these Australian guys a challenge sometime soon.

Cheers,
Trey

The one running 9s in the video is utilising an auto transmission so in our books they are cheating..

And if anyone needs the Fast WRX article on the Rigoli car, we have it scanned and can maybe upload it to a destination where everyone has access to it..

DRAG RACING I thought Subaru's couldn't be driven on a drag strip

Those are very impressive numbers, especially on street tires, now THAT's the beauty of all wheel drive, WOW!

Edit: I almost forgot the most important thing - what did it do on the Dyno?

Call me stupid...

But...

I dont think Drag racing is a big achievement... Anyone can build an engine with a massive turbo... big injectors..whack up the boost.. and race...

True.. the trick is making it last. and not blowing anything...

But to me, the challenge is building a high power car that is very drivable and smooth..

Different targets when it comes to tunning I suppose.

J.

ps - A T80 turbo anyone ?
