Whatever it is, I think I'm in love....

I've never heard of a spec R1...I think that whomever modded it gave it it's own name. If it was one of the "Limited" models (S202, etc...) it would not be left-hand drive.

Either way, it's friggin sweet!

Hmmm...

Looks like the picture was taken somewhere in the Northeast US. Shipping estimates are weighted toward the Northeast US, and since it costs around $1000 to ship a car across the country, it looks to me like this company is based in the US. Especially with the .com URL.

Hmmm... Methinks the seller is hiding something...

Seller is BSing some stuff. The R1 does exist, as it's been said, a Canadian "trim" model, where there are no significant peformance changes; just appearance, interior options etc.

It's always the eBay people.

It says Quebec in the details, how is he hiding anything? While not the most informative auction, the car has clearly been modded, and could easily have 300hp. Now, the 2.5l part is probably a stretch.

There is a lot of misinformation in that ad. It isnt a 2.5L, unless the owner change out the block. The spec R1 was just some momo trim, a momo shift knob and the BBS rims, plus a plaque stating which number the car is out of however many were made.

Like what (besides the 2.5l part which we all agree is suspect)? Spec R1 may be trivial but SOC felt it was worth producing, this guy is just playing it up. There's very little info in the auction, I don't see the seller as being deceitful (again, barring the 2.5l part).

I think this is the best part:

considering that the earth is round... that's not very many places... you can only see a few miles before the curve of the earth hides everything from view...

I'm not into the ricer look AT ALL, but somehow those taillights and the yellow color manage to look pretty acceptable.

I wouldn't do it on my car, mind you, but its not nearly as offensive as a million other compacts out there.

2.5L, no chance. That's a stock 2.0 sittin' there.

Did anyone else notice scratch in the lower right front corner. He photoshopped some pictures of it but forgot about the others.

Sweet car, I wish we had something like that here. but if he describes it as being cosmetically perfect, it should be, and he shouldn't try to cover it up. It's not even that bad, but trying to cover it up just makes him seem like a scum bag. Just my 2 cents.
