Default Baja harsh ride

This is my first post here. Hello to everyone. Trying to help out a family member. They own a 06 Forester turbo and a 06 Baja turbo. The forester has been with them about 6 years and they love it. The ride is very comfortable to them. They recently picked up the Baja and it rides so hard and rough on bumps they refuse to use it. Does anyone here know what is different between the two cars and what can be done to soften up the ride on the car?

Their struts or shocks are probably shot. Check those out and see if they need to be replaced then put in a nice softer solution.
