Default do I need a diff.

I have a 2002 wrx and I know this may sound stupid but if I swap a version 8 engine and transmission, would I also have to swap the diff. Basically I wanted to know if I can get away with only swaping the engine and transmission and still be able to run the car with my old diff. Thanks guys

You will need a matching differential for the new transmission. What that ratio is I don't remember.
