Exclamation head light problem

Hi I hope someone can help me. I got a 2001 impreza. I just went out and bought some xenon lights for my front. When I tried to change the front lights. There was this rubber around them so I carefully fliped the rubber to see how it was connected. i noticed a metal clip like of device connected to the lamp. Being the stupid person I was i pushed on the clip and i was able to pull the lamp out of the front light socket. Then when I went to pull the bulb out of the socket I couldn't get them out. After 10 of yanking and twisted I finally gave up. now when I went to put the bulb back into the front headlamps I couldn't seem to get it to fit properly because I don't know where the metal clip is suppose to go. Now my light allignment is all fooked up. Can someone help me please.... =(

Whenever you pulled the clips did they come all of the way out, they shouldnt have. The first time that I changed out my lights I did the same thing. The clips just kinda wedge the bulb fixture in there. Kinda hard to explain. Ask more detailed questions if you like.

The clip is a like a backwards c-ring. Pull off the rubber boot and squeeze the handles of the clip together. With the handles squeezed together, rotate the clip forward and that will expose the bulb. Pain to explain and do the first time, but it takes 5 seconds once you realize how bass ackwards it is.

Trunkmonkey is here! There is no cone...
