Scoobies win in KC SoloII

Today was the final day of the 2 day 5th Annual Kansas City Championship Autocross.
We had a big turn out of Scoobies. A total of 10 Impreza RS owners showed up. 4 of which ran both days and 2 other ran just today. The event ran yesterday and today. Some of the names from the board that showed up to run were Jeff 2.5RS, Wastgate, Bahumut, zzyzx, B. Foyle and me, KC_TopDog. The event wsa like a Nationals event were you run both days to get the best time overall. The other s that ran just one day were just for fun. 3 out of the 4 that ran both days got Trophies(Jeff, zzyzx{Steve} and me). Here is a list of the top 4 of each classes that Scoobies ran.

Street Touring Race
1)Jeff Saunders/20002.5rs forgot to get time,
but he won the class cause he was the only one. :-) He did a good job seeing that he has only a few events under his belt. He was a bit slower than me yesterday but did .7 sec better than me on the 2nd day.

Overall it was a great for me in STS to beat my Neon friends. YAAHHHOOOOOOOOO!!!
The tracks were like the Nationals. The first day course was more technical and the second day was more of a horse power track. I was having to go into 3rd in one part of the track on the 2nd day, getting up at about 60-62mph.

Hey way to go man! Out of curiousity, what do you have done to your car? I'm still trying (hesitantly) to make the decision of whether to stay in STS or go to SM.

I'm starting to get annoyed being in DSP... I came in last place in DSP but still ran faster than all the STS cars yesterday!

I need to start taking advantage of this class... the only mod I have that puts me into DSP is my damn seat. No money for tires though .

I just wanted to thank you guys for your help and advice. This was my FIRST event and it was lot of fun! For all of the KC area guys that attended - great to finally meet up with you. Face time with the local Impreza guys is something I was missing out on and I'm really happy to finally tie faces to names.

Regarding the event, I can't believe Integra Type R's are in G-stock! Get rid of the Type R's and I would have won!

You tell 'em, Steve! If I would've ran on the first day as good as I did on the second day, we would've shared the 3-4th places!!
..Oh, and it was my first Auto-x as well!

BTW, TopDog, both of the top 2 cars in GS class were Integra Type-Rs.

..and weren't they running on racing tires too?

B. Foyle,
In all of the Stock classes, you allowed to run on race tires. The same kind that Jeff was running. In STS, it's only street tires with trend ware rating no less then 140.

8Complex,
as for my car. All I have done is a custom intake, Eibach Pro Spring, catback exhaust and I am running on Bridgestone Potenza SO-2 Pole Positions. I had some negitive camber added to the front end. The one thing I need to get is a better rear sway bar. I am still running the stock one. I have gotten so use to the car that I have been able to figure out how to ge the rear end to come out with tires pressure changes.

Yeah, I got your e-mail donjuan. You missed out big time. It was a great day.
There is a Crown event on Sunday the 15th but I don't know if I'll make it. I will be at the final reguler season event for KC SCCCA on Oct 29th. It looks like I will finish 2nd overall in the points, but that is good cause I will have only run 4 of the 8 events in STS. The others have ran all season, plus I was not able to make it to a divisional on the Nationals which adds 60 points for both to the persons points total. That why the first place guy will probably beat me. I was in G-stock the first half but got bored and went to STS. I wanted to do stuff to the car and couldn't do really anything in G-stock but struts, K&N filter in the stock box and a catback exhaust.
