Question wrx Intake manifold

Will a stock wrx Intake manifold bolt up to a 98 2.5rs engine without a problem?

I dont think it will ,because 98 use phase I heads and the WRX manifold is for phase II heads, thats what I was told by some one who builds performance subaru motors

no it wont, the 98dohc head and the 02 dohc use a different bolt battern, the 98 uses an inline pattern and the wrx uses a staggered patteren.

if u want a turbo manifold u need a jdm intake, IIRC the sti v6 was the last year of the inline pattern on the jdm cars.

BUT IIRC the sti 1-3 uses a different angle of the runners.

also the new wrx intake has tgv's

I just got outbid on a WRX manifold with inline bolt holes. They looked to line up to me.

I have a STi v6 manifold sitting on my living room floor. The bolt pattern is offset...

Get your head out of your ass and under the hood and look for yourself.

The 98 RS has a straight bolt pattern (if you still have the DOHC heads in it). Ask the person who you are buying it from if it is a straight or staggared bolt pattern.

Straight:

o

o

o

o

Staggered:

o

-->o

-->o

o

If you can't figuer it out, you don't belong anywhere near tools.

2000 was not the new body style, therefor no TGV's.
