Angry >>> Possibly Scammed by Greg555! <<<<

Well as yall may well know, i sold a set of gold 17" Speedline 2113's. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=453007

Greg Drozd (Greg555) bought them a few weeks ago and sent me money through paypal. I waited for the payment to go through my account, about 4-5 business days. Well during this time, i was busy with finals and shipping such large items. after the payment went through, Greg asked for a tracking number, which i didnt have at the moment because i was unable to ship the rims due to finals. during that time, Greg filed a complaint through paypal and cancelled the payment. I sent out the rims as soon as i was notified by paypal.

Here are the tracking numbers through www.UPS.com which he recieved on the 11th of Dec.
1Z1E 579 V03 3398 2387
1Z1E 579 V03 0064 6614

During the middle of this, i sent Greg many emails providing him the tracking numbers and explaining to him what the problem was. He never returned any of my emails and i had a feeling that he was avoiding me. So i waited for him to receive the wheels, thinking that he will cancel the dispute through paypal and return the payment in my account. Well the 11th comes and still no response, i continued to email him with no luck with responses. So i called paypal to file a counter dispute and what they said to me was they sent Greg an email saying to return my messages and terminating the dispute is as simple as Greg logging on and pressing the "Cancel" button with the dispute.

To this day, Greg still hasnt return any of my emails and i still havent received the payments for the rims. I thought i could get some answers if i posted here because im running out of options. I feel that i have been scammed and Greg is hiding from this situation. Any info of how i could solve this would be great.

So where are you Greg555???

You as a seller should be responsible enough to take a minute to email him and let him know whats up before he filed the dispute.

i already explained to him and paypal what was going on. He received the rims and i havent gotten paid for it. now tell me if you wouldnt be mad if you were in my shoes?

I knew i was in the wrong in the beginning, i explained to him many times and also paypal. I wasnt trying to rip him off, shoot he got the freaking rims already! Now does that give him the excuse to not pay me since i lagged on shipping the wheels?

Can Paypal seller protection help you? If you shipped to a confirmed address I think you are protected from chargeback etc. You just need a proof of shipment and reception form UPS.

no offense, but the guy sent you the money and never got anything.......i'd be pissed too

w/that much money, i'm sure he wanted some sort of confirmation that something is being done

and why did you send him the rim after he sent a dispute to pay and got his money back?

don't get me wrong, i think he should either pay ya for the rims or send it back.......

i wasnt able to send the rims in time because i was in the middle of finals, i didnt have time to keep checking my emails. i explained that to him and paypal and which i provided a confirmation and tracking numbers. I hope paypal can resolve this because i sent them proof of the sent items and his address is verified. they're just waiting on Greg to reply, if he doesnt do so in time, i hope paypal will take care of me.

Greg has been MIA for the last week, i havent heard a single word from him.

Don't mean to be a d*ck but you didn't have time to check your e-mails constantly...maybe he's going through the same thing. Maybe he's busy with his finals too. Everytime I sell something I always ensure that I ship it at either the day after I get the money or unless I come up with another date with the buyer to ship the item. I DONT accept money if I'm going to get jammed in something like finals that would prevent me from shipping at the agreed day. You put him in a compromising situation after he sent you the money. HE was worried about sending you his money and you not shipping his wheels out on time...kinda ironic that the upper hand is on his side now.

Either way I hope you get things sorted out.

If you're going to be too busy w/ finals or whatever...don't put things up for sale!!! If you don't have the time to conduct business, just wait till you do have time.

The way you feel right now is how Greg felt when he sent you the money and heard nothing.

I'll just have to wait and see what paypal comes up with. I know i was in the wrong, and i kept Greg updated through out this whole deal and there was no response from him then. The least thing he could do was answer my emails and i only got 1-2 emails from him since he sent the money. so he wasnt constantly trying to get in contact with me during this ordeal. on the other hand, i emailed him everyday right before i shipped the wheels and everyday during and after the wheels were shipped. No response whatsoever.

I filed a dispute before. He doesn't get the money back, paypal kinda like holds it. You should be able to supply them with a tracking number proving you shipped it and you should be fine, you get your money. Don't deal with him, deal with paypal. It's there way of gettinf you to ship the product. You have a certain time frame to handle the situation though. I'd call customer service ASAP.

thanx for that info man. i handled it within the 7 day time frame that they gave me, i also talked to customer service as soon as he got the rims. all we're really waiting on is for Greg to respond back.

Like i said people, I tried to handle it the best way i can to try to help Greg and informed him with every info he needed, but he wasnt responding.

I have had a similar thing happen to me with a paypal sale.
Once the buyer claims he never got item or whatever, paypal
will hold the money. You the seller must then prove you shipped the items. If you can do that paypal will then release the money to you, it takes awhile about 2 months for me. They will give
Greg a month or so to reply to you, then the money is yours.
Unless Greg used a credit card and cancelled payment through
them, then paypal loses money if they pay you, so they wont

If I'm gonna buy something and expect it immediately I buy it from a regular vendor. If I'm gonna buy something and don't need it right away, I might just give someone a chance.

I know Greg personally and well, he's impatient. He's also not always on the Internet and isn't on this board a whole lot these days. I can try to point this thread out to him. Here is the forsale link for the rally car he built, perhaps it has some more contact information on it:

First of all, I'm not yelling at him. Second, the buyer had all intentions of making a straight forward deal. He sent the money PERIOD. Then the seller decides that he's suddenly too busy after getting the money leaving someone who just paid a load of money with no other info. How would you feel? I don't think its too much to ask for the seller to respond to the buyer after the buyer just sent money especially since there's a lot of scamming that goes on in this forum. Regarding your statement that everyone must be too busy...ever occur to you that the buyer has been too busy to go online to see what's going on? Open up your perspective...

As it has been pointed out, you should not call a person a "scammer" if he sent you money.

You have waited 2 days to hear from him. How many days did he have to wait for you? From the time he sent the money and then cancelled?

If I were him, I would have done the same thing. If I buy something I DO NOT CARE if you have finals unless this was stated PRIOR to the transaction. I am more surprised that he did not come on here and call you a scammer after sending money and receiving nothing but silence.

The only time i heard from him after he sent the money was twice, once to tell me to send him the tracking number, second time 2 days later to tell me he cancelled the payment. thats the total of 3-4 days. that seemed a little impatient to me.

In the other hand, i havent heard from him in almost 2 weeks to this point.

he probably realized he couldn't afford the rims, made up an excuse and cancelled the payment. When you sent the rims anyways, you sort of trapped him into buying them, and he knew he couldn't afford it, so now he's ignoring you....he could also be on vacation

either way, as a seller, I would never send anything until the payment was made.
