Since my cly 4 is still dead I was planing on buying a STI block In a week or so and throwing her in my Suby. Anyway I've herd that with WRX heads they dont flow right, is this true? will it decrease power that much? I realy dont want to run into any problems while doing this install so if theres anything I should know about please inform me. How much Hp and torque would this setup give me? (estimated numbers) One more thing, a few months back i had my WRX heads ported at a machine shop so maybe this would help some?

Its not that they wont work, youre just leaving alot of power on the table with the wrx cams. The fact that they are ported should help a fair amount.
HP depends on what turbo youre going to run. I wouldnt go with anything smaller than a VF22/old pe1820 size. You'll have more than enough torque to make a 5MT puke. |

Porting would be nice, but you'd be better served with a set of cams.
The USDM STI ones are $150 each (x4) and available at your dealer. They should keep the motor from falling off at 5000rpm. You've got to pull the cams out to change the heads anyway... so there is no extra labor involved. Money better spent IMO. Dan |

More to it then just the STI cams guys.
Just wait on that comment.. right now Ron over at Axis is measuring up what it takes to run them. It's not a "drop in" deal with those cams. You need valvetrain hardware for sure. Jorge (RiftsWRX) www.ProjectWRX.com |

OT: Is it useful to use STI cams on a 2.0 WRX motor? Would it help and keep the powerband past the WRX cam redline??

To use the AVCS you would need an STi ecu.
Unless new info has come to light since sponaugle posted his cam thread the USDM STi cams are not a whole lot bigger the USDM WRX cams if at all, they are practically the same size just slightly higher lift. There is another guy who put in a EJ257 with poted heads and he seemed to be pretty happy. |
