my car vectored and wallpapered (146kb)

Figured I'd post my new wallpaper for anyone that likes this type of stuff. I started with a photo I took of my car up at Mt. Seymour on monday, did some vector work on it, and added some lighting effects to spruce it up. The whole thing's hand-done...no filters or anything lame like that. I'm pretty happy with it for my first attempt at this sorta thing.

Sorry for the extra wide image... I was designing it as my new wallpaper (1024x768)

On a related note: the STi logo text is remarkably similar to the Battlestar Galactica title text (with some minor modifications)

i was actually planning on animating the snow at one point, but decided against it for now.

All Flash...I imported the image and then used the drawing tools to trace over it, and add the highlights/shadows, lighting effects, background, etc...you can automatically convert bitmaps to vectors in Flash (using "Trace Bitmap"), but the results are unpredictable, so I just drew the whole thing out myself

yes to posting a bigger version...nuh-uh to doing another one

it was fun making the first one, but it takes too long. I did manage to make white, red, yellow, silver, WRB, white w CF hood, yellow w CF hood, silver w CF hood, red w CF hood out of this picture, and I don't imagine it would be too hard to add a hood scoop/painted mirrors (it just needs a bit more shading for the mirrors to look good colored) and make it into a WRX.

...and wow!...a t-shirt! Maybe I'll have to expand my business a bit and go into clothing
